His injury history is one of the reasons they went out and got Olave. Just can't count on him to play more than a couple of games a year.

Guess which QB calls himself Cam Jackson?

Camahomes Brackson. -
I had really been hoping he'd have a bad underwear Olympics but that didn't happen. Had hoped we could get him with our early 2nd round pick. Now I'm not sure he makes it out of the teens.

Did he close the interview with Ice Up Son

Draft Hooker at #61 - would you?
SmokinwithWilly replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Carolina Panthers
It all depends on how the coaching staff feels about his ability to develop. I actually trust this brain trust to choose a QB that's right for the system they're trying to build. I'd really like to get a top tier TE in this draft if possible. That's one of the positions we're really missing and it can be such a weapon. Kelce, Andrews, Gronk, Waller, Kittle, have all shown how important it is to have that big safety net. -
Best we could have gotten out of Gilmore was a 5th anyway.

It's not disrespectful IF they are basing it on his injury history. He has missed 25% of the season each of the past 2 years. The offer was 250 over 5 years with 133 guaranteed. While it's low on the guarantee side for what other QBs are asking/getting, his injury history or other factors may warrant that to them. Or it could be that they started low, expecting him to hire an actual agent to do the negotiating instead of his mom. Too many factors from both sides to just say they're cheap. Part of the reason we lost Norman was due to an inexperienced agent in the negotiation process and Nippleshorts ego.

I just want to hear broadcasters trying to say his name during a game.

I was hoping Smith would have a bad underwear olympics. Was hoping we might be able to sneak him with our 1st 2nd rounder. Don't think that will happen now.
-
I don't that we could. If the number is 31 million it's doable. That's what his designated cap hit is. If he plays in 23 its 59m. You pretty much need a degree just in the cap to be able to understand how they maneuver all this crap. Personally I don't want him here. The fact Davante Adams left GB to play with Carr says a lot to me about AR as a QB.
-
There's a difference between manipulating the cap and saying it's not a thing. We're going to need a specific amount of available cap to trade for Rogers. That is definitely a thing. How we can get there is the manipulation part. We can't say we'll trade for him and be 20m over the cap then redo his contract. The trade would be void. There are certain hard numbers that do exist in cap dynamics in order to make trades.
-
Cap space does actually exist, even though it can be manipulated. In order to trade for a player, they have to be able to absorb his cap hit without going over at the time of the trade. If they can do that, then contracts can be re-worked, but they actually have to have the room to complete the trade. That's why we were making all that room before Watson kicked Carolina out of the equation. I'm no capologist, but I guarantee it's going to play a role if we're genuinely interested.

Charlie Campbell: Panthers love Bijan Robinson
SmokinwithWilly replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
One of those reasons could have to do with them having more ads than the Camp Lejeune lawyers. -
His development crew has been the elite Urban Meyer, the OOU god himself Matt Rhule, and then the interim Steve Wilks. That's not exactly a who's who. I'm not saying he'll get any better or not, but that is a serious shortfall in NFL coaching right there.
-
And we rightly should be. It will all come down to the fit, contract length and cost. We can't go into 2023 with a rookie QB, last year's rookie QB, and a PS QB on the roster. We're getting someone. The question is who.
-
I would too but unfortunately he has to be in the discussion because we have 1 QB on our roster with zero game day stats. We are going to sign a vet. There's the big 3 available, after that a few typical backup level QBs. Even if we traded up, we cant go into the season with Stroud/Corral/Eason. That's just craziness. We're getting someone. It's just a matter of who.
