We'll see what they ultimately gave him, my guess is they caved as they didn't really have a choice considering the leverage franchise QBs have in today's NFL, but it was completely reasonable to be hesitant to give the dude a fully guaranteed contract considering he has missed that much critical time the past few years.

Good stuff. I think Thielen is past his point of being an elite outside WR but will excel in the slot which is huge for a young QB and makes him a great pickup. I can see him getting 1000 yards 10+ TDs honestly. But he's not really going to be a guy teams gameplan for, that's what we're missing on offense is one of those guys. Maybe Sanders could be it but I think that's unlikely. None of our WRs or TEs come close. For now we'll hope for great coaching and QB play to outweigh not having that stud offensive skill player that other teams have to account for every snap. Whether it's a WR or TE doesn't really matter

The rosters Gettleman constructed had considerably more success than the rosters Hurney generated, with the same core players and Rivera as coach. It's not quite that simple and obviously both GMs had significant faults and Rivera has had concerns himself, but I don't think it's fair to say Gettleman "wasted" Cam and Luke.

yeah if we stayed at 9 and the other 3 were gone, take a shot on Levis, still probably too much of a risk to take at that position but we need a QB so ok. But at 1st overall after trading up what we did and with legit guys in Young/Stroud there, taking levis would be the biggest disaster in team history, and we've had our fair share of those

Levis is a massive douche and I would fully believe that he would tell friends and family that he's getting picked 1st overall despite the Panthers never telling him poo. The Jets will be good but I doubt they win it all and Rodgers lasts no more than 1-2 years there. Gave up way too much IMO. Packers did well to get rid of his contract for that compensation.

Hoping even without league intervention forced by players that Tepper decides to spend some $ and go back to grass to save face here and for good PR. Not expecting it though.
