  1. To threaten defenses vertically, you need: 1 - deep threat WRs (we only have one in Chark and he’s below average as a starting WR in the NFL) 2 - an OL that can allow enough time for those WRs to get vertical. We have by far the worst starting guards in the NFL. This is obviously due to injury. Still, it doesn’t change the fact that we’re extremely susceptible to inside pressure. 3 - a QB who can hit the mark when 1 & 2 are in place (they’re not) 4 - Offensive play calls that allow for it. Whether that’s due to the lack of 1, 2, 3, or all of the above, we don’t know.
  2. I wish they would use something like a triangular white marker for incompletions that are clear throwaways. I feel like 1/2 of Bryce’s incompletions are these types where the play is just dead from the jump or dead from quick pressure.
  3. There have been very few downfield shots taken where Bryce isn’t getting hit as he’s finishing his throwing motion. I agree he needs to improve there, but I also don’t think we’ve seen enough of it yet to definitively say it’s a problem. I’d love to see more downfield shots coming out of the bye week, and getting Corbett back to give us more resistance to onside pressure should help.
  4. All the whiners should have to see this on each page of this thread.
  5. Why? I mean, that would make me happy too, but I doubt it. He was projected in the top 50 prospects in the 2024 draft before he’s shown out.
  6. Please let Tez be there with the #33 pick
  7. Someone still hasn’t come back to Earth.
  8. I’m with you, but many posters here would certainly commence to wishing their neighbor’s son was theirs.
  9. Packers among potential suitors for Chinn is interesting with the rumors of us checking into Christian Watson.
  10. “Doesn’t change the fact that Stroud has thoroughly outplayed Bryce the entire season. Bryce isn’t even mentioned in ROTY conversations. Plus, he’s short.” -Huddle Stroud Bros (probably)
  11. Most people would assume a route schemed up in that manner would be courtesy of the coaching staff. I see now that Stroud had input and credit to him for it. Calm down Stroud bros. You likely have 10+ years to be his fans. Enjoy them.
  12. Good play call. Good on the Texans coaching staff for scheming up success there based on Bates’s tendencies.
  13. Let Bryce throw 58 times and he’ll get there.
  14. Did you see the stats on Zavala’s play recently?
  15. Send them Burns, Chinn, and Sanders for their 2024 1st, 2024 2nd, J Gibbs, and Brian Branch.
  16. I can agree with this. At least our off seasons are entertaining. Ha
  17. I can agree it looked like he was probably down, but the views of it weren’t great. How do you feeL about your coaching staff right now though? I can’t imagine having to address the team after that one.
  18. Improved but not as good as his weapons on the Texans. The lack of separation, a byproduct of talent + scheme issues, would still be noticeable. I also assume the play calling would still protective of a rookie QB with our current staff. At 0-4, I hope they loosen the reigns.
  19. Collins/Dell/Shultz would all be in the top 4 of our receiving options.
  20. A guy who has admitted to being lazy is not someone I want to risk it for, especially with a new coaching staff trying to establish their systems.
  21. I’m sure the plan would be to negotiate a contract extension that would convert most of his 2024 salary into a bonus. That’s assuming the Broncos don’t take on some of what he’s owed which they may. There would still be enough money to go after Higgins in the off-season and keep Theilen and Mingo around. WR1 - Higgins/Mingo WR2 - Jeudy/TMJ Slot - Theilen/Ihmir S-M (return duties) That’s likely a ~#10-15 WR room in 2024 if we can swing it. We’re currently ~#32. That would certainly help give Bryce options. Higgins’s stock right now is at its lowest. Some rough drops + struggling offense + injury should knock his asking price down.
  22. Jeudy’s cap number currently ranks 27th for WRs in 2024, and it will certainly drop lower after the next free agency cycle.
  23. I’m one of the few still not worried about Bryce. The only thing concerning I’ve seen from him is he looks easily discouraged in games at the moment. That will improve as well. Any word on what we’re offering for WR help or who we’re targeting?
  24. I didn’t say Davis was a #1. I think that’s fair trade value for Burns though. We should be trying to build our team for the future with Bryce. A young, top end #2 that you can lock in for a reasonable price for the next 5-6 years. A young, rookie TE who is already sharing TE1 duties on one of the best teams in the NFL. It helps that he’s an excellent receiving TE when we lack receiving options. Leonard Floyd to bridge the gap at EDGE. A 2nd round pick to continue building. ~$25-30 million saved in cap space we can use to sign our EDGE and/or WR1. I’d take it in a heartbeat.
