    Great. If nothing else, it ensures we only send the Browns a 5th rounder for Mayfield.

    I've posted before that I'm a fan of trading back and getting Mayer! Love that idea. Just not with one of the top 5 picks in the draft. I think we can add draft capital and still pick him up somewhere in the #8-10 range. I don't think Mayer is going to blow everyone away at the combine like Kyle Pitts did, and he was drafted #4.

    In the scenario I was envisioning, we have pick #3-5 and QBs are taken 1&2. If that's the case, someone will put together a trade package for Anderson or Carter. Then we have to consider taking them or trading back setting up a big move for a QB next year.

    If we miss on the top 2 QBs this draft, I think trading back is the right move. Stack picks and draft a Richardson/Duggan/Penix type with one of our 2nd rounders. Let them battle with Corral next year and if the results are terrible, trade the farm for Drake Maye or Caleb Williams.

    I think that’s too expensive even if he shows well over the end of the season. The Steelers gave Trubisky 2 years, ~14 million. That would be acceptable imo, and then still draft a QB to develop.

    Curious for those still wondering if Mayfield/Darnold can become a starter… If they lead us to a winning record over our last 7 games and look like an average starting QB (best possible scenario), what kind of contract you offering them?

    Over the next two years… 1. Drake Maye 2. Caleb Williams 3. Bryce Young 4. CJ Stroud 5. Will Levis Thats about what I expect out of the top rated QBs. I admit, I haven’t watched enough of others like Penix, Duggar, and Richardson.

    I haven’t seen another WR on our team go up and snag one like TMJ did in the end zone yesterday. Young guy is coming around and might force many Huddlers to eat crow.

    Hopefully nothing. A Bills/Chiefs and Allen/Mahomes rematch in the playoffs is near the top of my game wishes this year.

    If that pick is a 5th rounder, I wouldn’t mind having him as a cheap backup for four years.

    You watched one of his worst games in his first year as a college starting QB. I think it says something that one of his worst performances still racked up over 360 total yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs. He’ll have his learning moments as a young QB. With that said, I think he’s over 30TDs now with only 3 INTs.

    He’s not. He’s the best QB prospect in college football this year and will be the focus of many NFL tank jobs next year.

    Depends on where we’re selecting. We’re 3rd or 4th pick and top 2 are gone, I take Anderson or Carter on the dline. We’re 5th - 8th, I try to trade back to 10-15 and acquire more picks with TE Michael Mayer my target. Were 9th pick or later, just go ahead and select TE Michael Mayer.

    So Young is, at best, 9th on your list in 2022. I think you’re alone on that island and missing the closest thing to Mahomes since he came into the league.

    I can see the benefit in choosing a QB that has elevated their team beyond their average success, but there are a lot of good NFL QBs we’d have missed with that approach. Burrow, Stafford, Murray, Hurts to name a few. I think it’s more evident when a QB comes from a college with less talent, but that doesn’t mean those at the blue bloods can’t be franchise QBs.

    So you don’t have Young or Hooker in your top 5 QBs….who is your top 5 then? Can’t wait to see

    You went to the same high school as Hooker, right? Either that or your his momma. No one else would select him over Young.

    Only the offensive talent matters when evaluating a QB, and Kiper has two Tennessee WRs in the top 6 of his WR rankings. Tenn has more talent than Bama on offense this year, outside of QB.
