RB Coach Duce Staley and QB Coach Josh McCown fired
Martin replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
The big question is what, if anything, McCown has done in terms of coaching Bryce. His footwork is atrocious to point one thing out. -

I thought Holder speculated that Stroud was Frank’s type of QB, as many others did. But I never saw anyone saying Frank didn’t want Young. -

Tabor is a very good coach, interesting to see how he does as a HC. -
I feel Jay Glazer is pretty reliable. I also haven’t heard that Frank didn’t want Bryce. I’ve heard from some that it was a 1a 1b situation.
-
There are also other sources saying they were all aligned around Young. But water under the bridge at this point. What matters is what we do moving forward.
-
I think he can complain about Young (if true), but overall he has nothing to stand on.

It will be interesting to see what Thomas Brown does now when he has the full freedom to do what he wants. Obviously there are a lot of limitations based on personnel and scheme, but it might actually be a game worth watching. -
I think he’s completely accurate. Frank did a terrible job. Are you saying Frank did a good job at 1-11? Is that your point here? And don’t have to write a loooooong answer, yes or no will suffice.
-
Tepper is definitely the biggest problem, but Frank was a huge problem as well. 0 progress shown over 12 games.
-
I think Tepper has messed up in a lot if ways, but the above is absolutely fair.
-
Sure, if a coach says “Frank got fired after going 1-11, so I’m not interested in this opening”, I’d be the first to say you were correct.
-
As I said. Frank being fired after showing ineptitude and going 1-11 will not be the reason someone won’t take the job. There are other reasons for hesitation, but Frank being fired for his performance is not one of them.
-
Sadly I don’t disagree.
-
That I agree with. But I don’t think the firing of Frank matter. In a perfect world it is a clean slate with a new GM and HC and they are not mandated to start Young unless they want to. Forcing Young as the starting QB will have an impact.
-
The “nobody would like to come here if Frank is fired” is bs. Everyone will see that this year was a complete disaster and think to themselves that could do much better than that.
-
I agree. I just didn’t agree with the “I don’t blame Frank…” statement.
-
I absolutely blame Frank. He has done nothing to adapt his stale system to fit the players we have. He’s done no changes or tried anything different. That is 100% his fault.
-
Cam Ward is very intriguing at QB. Not surrounded by a lot if talent, but a very good skill set.
-
Agree on Horn and Ickey, nothing wrong with those picks. But I still feel strongly that we would draft way better just using Dane Brugler draft guide. It is an absolute embarrassment to have a huge full time staff this bad. It feels like everyone is completely overthinking and over analyzing the whole thing.
-
That’s where my head is as well. A genius on the whiteboard, recalling previous games and situations etc. But doing it in real time is different, and that was the only reason to pick him at 1, the expectation that he was a genius in the field.
-
I don’t see him throwing Tepper under the bus. Frank came in and implemented the only offense he’s ever used and it doesn’t fit our roster and it also stinks. After 6 weeks of this poo show it sounds like Tepper suggested doing something to help Bryce out, but they haven’t. Now Tepper has made a bunch of bad hires, but the scheme vs. personal issues are all Frank imo.
