App State vs. GA Southern... 48 vs 51, double overtime.

Good luck to him, good luck to Nebraska. And we've moved on. Good luck to us.

Geez, not the Power Smurfs again.

I wouldn’t mind spending the 2nd round pick on this..

And it's not like Georgia has sucked for the last three years... -

He ain't coming here and I'm glad for that. He'll end up with the Raiders.

Eh, I didn't mind watching him on the show. I thought he handled it well. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up. Glad he has had to move on, though as I can't get these three seasons back. -
It was inevitable. What happens from here is probably not great, but what has been happening here hasn't been great either. We could, however, be surprised and that would be a nice change. Good luck to him.

That sounds like it was much more than a grope... They got him out of the country fast for a reason.

Maybe Teddy Bridgewater wasn’t that bad….

Teddy wasn't terrible, he was fair under Rhule. Under a different coach he might have been a bit better, but we know for sure that Teddy was telling the truth that he was being made to wear boxing gloves out there. Still, our biggest mistake was letting Heinicke go. That kid has the "it" factor like Jake Delhomme did. He's tougher than a $2 steak and he's got more fight in him than out entire defensive line. The kid ain't the greatest, but man, he's competitive as a m'fer. -
Nope just trying to see all of the options under the same light. PJ performed better without Rhule and with the improved line. Mayfield performed the same as he did before. We have no idea how Darnold will perform, although we are throwing millions at him on the bench. If he plays really well, we will all be completely surprised. If he plays badly, we'll all know that he's the same as before and still get a high draft pick. If he plays mediocre, then we know he's not our starter for sure, but might be a backup if he's willing to take a small paycheck for it. That's not multiplying zeros, that's making sure you aren't throwing something away that might have a tiny bit of value in it considering that you've already paid for it. I mean, what do you think we're going to do over the next few weeks? Lure Aaron Rodgers away or get Elway to come out of retirement? Maybe give Chris Weinke another shot?

If season ended today which QB would you take.
Khyber53 replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, I'd stick with Matt Corral and see what we have there. Then spend the high draft pick on the top DE/Edge rusher in the draft and give our defense some teeth. I think that's the safer bet. -

It didn't work for him here. I never believed in the guy and he lived up to my warning after Rivera was fired that we might be replacing one guy with a worse guy. But I don't have any ill will to him now that he's gone. He made a lot of mistakes and his vision wasn't realized here -- or even possible in the pro game. If he's going to be really good, he'll learn from that and change. If not, the college ranks will open up for him again and he can rebuild his reputation. If he can learn and grow from his own mistakes and shortfalls, then he has an opportunity to get to the NFL and work again. If he gets the chance, he might make some waves then. He just wasn't ready for this stage in his career. -
There's an awful lot of truth here. The guy is phenomenal right now (and seems like a really great person in addition) but that's an awful lot of eggs in one basket, not just the money (which will be astronomical) but draft picks as well... As much as he'd look great walking out in our uniform on opening day next year, he's just one bad hit from being a massive liability for years to come. Perhaps developing a rookie QB is really the way to go, especially from a budgetary standpoint. We've got some building to do elsewhere. And I still want to see Matt Corral out there. He could be the real deal, we just don't know yet.
-
Sure they do. Baker is mojoless and can't get the ball down the field. You watched the game, right? Time to give Darnold a start. Well, might as well. He's the third QB in the room and the other two guys aren't doing it. Chances are he won't either, but you've got to roll the dice they hand you.
-
He's had a remarkably durable career. You'd think his name was Colt McCown.
-
Always play to win and Baker just can't do that. Honestly, PJ really can't either. That leaves Darnold and call someone up for or to the practice squad. This is a suck season but any coach or player that isn't playing to win right now doesn't deserve to come back.
-
I think there's a lot of truth to this. He has all the skills you want, but lacks that fighter mentality that a little guy top receiver needs. He could be the best WR2 in the league and I'm not meaning that as any slight against the guy. And while we're at it... Shi Smith is our new Damiere Byrd, little guy that we want to see make it but he just gets killed out there.
-
Has anyone seen DJ Moore? The guy is going to be on the back of a milk carton next. How does your best receiver just disappear like this?
-
There's something broken in Baker. He just doesn't have the "it" that you need to QB in this league. Darnold would see ghosts now and then, Baker plays like he's trapped in a haunted house. There's no aggression, no push until it's garbage time. He needs to ride the pine and carry a clipboard from here on out, barring injuries.
-
No, he's not even close. Mayfield no longer has any mojo or ability to push the ball downfield. There's something broken in the kid. He needs to sit on the bench and find out who he is going to be. Time to move on to Darnold. And yes, I know how down the barrel that sounds, but there it is.
-
I think we're going to do better than advertised, but the Ravens are motivated for this win. Ravens 28 Panthers 24
-
There is certainly a new team chemistry here, one that is much, much better. Perhaps we should offer a two year contract to Wilks and let him pick his guys. I'd really like to see who he'd bring in with the draft, free agency and see what he can put together through an entire off season and training camp under his leadership. There are some really good pieces to the puzzle already in place here. We just had a guy before that had no idea what the picture was, much less how to put it together.

Geez, that's some BS.
