  1. Could be a game changer if he isn't available. If he is, though, we're gonna get killed.
  2. Okay, now I know a bit more. What's the context?
  3. Help me out here, I'm slow. What does OOU stand for?
  4. I thought he had a cushy front office/consultant job with the Bucs and was just enjoying life. Why would he give that up?
  5. Also, let us not forget Curly Neal and Meadowlark Lemon, they may have been Harlem Globetrotters, but we have to remember beyond the entertainment, the two men were masters of the sport of basketball as well.
  6. The truth is that Baker is on a quarter by quarter watch this Sunday vs. Baltimore. He's going to have to play lights out to keep the gig through this game, much less the next. PJ is out for a couple of weeks at the very least, so the idea of Darnold starting can't be that odd, but it all depends on Mayfield and if he can play well. He seemed to when given the shot. It seems that a lot of this team is performing better without Rhule here, from the players to the coaches. In saying that, we have to recognize that Darnold probably suffered the most under Rhule of any player. Could he be better behind a different line, with better coaching and a game plan that relies more on the run? Sure. Will it be good enough? We only have past results to go on, so the odds aren't in Sam's favor.
  7. I don't give us much of a chance. We're just not anywhere near their level and the Ravens need the win to stay in contention. Considering their running game and defense, we're going to come out of this one bruised and battered. Still, there's always a chance in the NFL. A 10 percent chance of winning for us seems generous.
  8. Sheesh, where does Marc Davis spend all of his money? Great Clips?
  9. If the list doesn't start with Michael Jordan at #1, then don't bother reading the list.
  10. I've been saying for a while now that getting a stud DE to pair up with Burns would have a more immediate positive impact on this team with less chance of a let down. There are soooo many things that can make a QBs transition to the pros a difficult and dicey deal, especially at the top of the draft where there are huge and immediate expectations. Now, a DE like Peppers (okay he was a once in a lifetime player) or even Detroit's Aidan Hutchinson for example can make an impact right off the bat because there are only so many variables to account for as they move into the big league. There's never a sure bet, but there are smarter ones for sure.
  11. Character matters at this level just as it does at every level. Guys like that can be coached, motivated and can do the same for their teammates.
  12. No professional teams in Nebraska. He'll be back home. Good luck to him, hope he does well. We've moved on.
  13. You get enough young men like him on a team, you build something good and strong for a generation. On the field or off.
  14. And that was rightfully pointed out to the players. Those who get it and stomp the accelerator to work hard for their chances get the opportunity to keep earning a good pot full of money next year. Those who don't get motivated by it, well, it shows something that we might not have learned otherwise. Best of luck to them in their new endeavors.
  15. Some people just like to hate on other folks and kickers are easy targets. Good for Joey, good for Taylor, good for Ron. Best of luck to them. That was a helluva game plan to take down the Eagles.
  16. There's more truth to this than a lot of us want to admit. Both of those guys deserve a chance to perform without Rhule here. Give them each three games to start before the end of the season.
  17. Have any of those top draft QBs we're looking at actually changed the trajectory of their whole program? If not, then chances are they can't do it here, either. There's a reason teams with high draft picks are often teams with high draft picks year after year. They keep begging for a miracle and playing the lottery assuming that someday their number will come in.
  18. Well, here's hoping he recovers fully. We move on, some other guys are going to get opportunities.
  19. New one just hit, if you're interested.
  20. In some areas, but he's not anywhere near his quality yet. Von has a killer instinct that even goes beyond what most pass rushers have. I'm not sure if Burns has that much of one.
  21. Without a doubt, but in Burns' case, it is doubly important. He doesn't have the mass to successfully take on doubles all game long. I still think he was picked to, and made for, playing as an OLB in a 3-4 defense.
