  1. Again; on average, every 7th time you tried him....resulted in a touchdown in 2020. Now compare that to the rate of Surtain in 2020 and Farley in 2019. They gave up a TD on average of every 24th and 25th the time the ball came there way. In fact, comparing everyone’s final season...Horn gave up more TDs than both Surtain and Farley combined on less targets That’s a really high rate based on the action he got. He likes to maul WRs. When he can do that....it is tough to to complete passes on him. It’s why he was the best press man DB in the draft. Gamecocks couldn’t do that with him all game....just like we can’t. That’s where the inconsistency is....when he can’t go man coverage and get up on a body. just because Trey Lance has stuff to work on doesn’t mean it won’t get it done. Same with Horn. I wouldn’t of wanted Lance at 8. Same reasons. But if you take a guy at 8....it’s only far to talk about his complete game and what we want to see him improve on. I’m sure he will. Uber talented. DNA you want. But I don’t think it is fair to him with all this talk he is going to step on the field and be Luke level ready as a rookie day 1 and have that impact. DB is much harder.
  2. Horn is more Trey Lance. Surtain is more Mac Jones. That’s my overall point. Horn has the ceiling and talent. But he wasn’t very consistent and his game needs a lot more work vs the other two DBs.
  3. Well, I’m almost done with that. I don’t dislike Horn. I disliked him at 8. Some can’t accept that as position to have.
  4. At this point, I think the LSU kid is the pick that currently swung the overall feel of this draft.
  5. Moose might own the title for best individual season for a Panther WR. and 89 had a triple crown season
  6. He is really good in the short pass game too in the middle of the field. Quick hitter to the WR and he comes in lays defenders out.
  7. I like the pick. Best blocker at TE in the draft. That ain’t sexy but we could use the help up front in Brady’s scheme. We can develop him too. He is a good athlete.
  8. He had a 12.5% drop rate. That’s bad. And he largely was open....because he was the designated blocking TE. I mean he has great upside. His blocking alone makes him better than Ian Thomas. But he most definitely was bad route runner with bad hands vs the other two TEs Notre Dame did use as pass catchers
  9. yeah, because Kittle was a raw talent...and he rapidly developed when he went into the NFL. Notre Dame kid still has to develop in the pass game. And Kittle was a rocket ship in terms of his growth.
  10. Logging 10 yards a game would have given a TE that title last year. Brady isn’t going to scheme him up for much with his current day hands and route running in the pass game. He has work to do before we start about him as more than a blocker.
  11. At blocking. Significantly better. He has a ways to go to catch Ian as a receiving option and Ian is disappointing at that.
  12. The little I saw him he just looked really raw and inexperienced as a receiving option. He needs a lot of reps IMO. But his skill set gives him a lot of room to grow.
  13. they brought it up during the coverage. The comp wasn’t actual NFL Kittle. It was the version of Kittle coming out of college. Kittle was a 5th or 6th rounder. Raw and not a polished stud college TE.
  14. I think the comp is Kittle coming out of college....not what Kittle actually turned into as a NFL player.
  15. Not sure we can pencil him in as weapon. But he can be valuable upfront. More so than Thomas.
  16. Pretty raw. Interesting skill set in terms of upside. he could turn into a nice player. Gonna need to be coached up. But a nice blocking base coming in.
  17. one can only wait for the next round... will we want the GM tar and feathered? Or will every man and woman want to marry the man. It can easily go either way.
  18. I can get down with him. I do like the Brady connection. need to look up what the medical issues are that made him drop though.
  19. And then draft every draft eligible player that played at Baylor?
  20. Fun fact. On average, Horn gave up a TD this year every 7th time he was targeted. Think Surtain gave up a TD every 24th time he was targeted.
  21. That logic doesn’t work. There are tons of elite prospects in a draft. Jags drafting Trevor for example doesn’t mean they thought Trevor was the only elite QB prospect. They thought he was the best of the elite tier of QBs and the best for them. Steelers drafting Harris doesn’t mean they thought Etienne was a bum. Means they thought Harris was the best for them and the best of the elite RBs. You can’t claim the Steelers think he wasn’t also elite since they didn’t draft him. You only have one pick.
  22. Sam Darnold going into last night was a one year rental. I read the room pretty well. Because I said going in the Seattle GM was worrisome for me with the early DB move being his likely go to. Because he was going to have his unique Fitterer slant. Like Dave had his bias. Like Hurndawg had his. Fields is an elite QB prospect. Bashing it as something else isn’t going to make our pick better. Hopefully we don’t look foolish. Fields isn’t a superstar. Horn is great. That ain’t certain at all though.
