  1. Well we shouldn’t stick with this dude. We should of never gone into the season with him.
  2. That could be. But we still downgraded. And Syle wasn’t even good. this guy has bounced around for a half decade. Either go sign a real kicker or bring in some young leg to gamble with. This never made sense.
  3. Joey Syle was perfect on the day. 7/7 on FGs/XPs. I had no problem moving on from him but as I said at the time….we downgraded. That’s on Rhule. This guy isn’t a NFL kicker.
  4. I haven’t watched it yet….did we really punt on the Jets 33?
  5. I’m talking foundation of the O. The starting OL and QB. if you look at the foundation of the O. The combo of the starting OL/QB combo….it’s one of the weaker foundations in the NFL. Foundation of the D is the DL. Which isn’t weak. And that makes our D promising. We had Burns. We spent a first rounder on Brown. We brought in legit FAs around them. It’s a good front. We literally spent the entire first draft Snow was here on D. Top of the second draft on D. FAs have been solid and focused on that foundation. NFL is a talent driven league. If you suck at something, it’s generally because your talent is weak IMO. We have very weak OL combined with a weak QB. Faith in him improving isn’t really relevant IMO to present conversation. On O, we added depth and skill position guys in the draft (presently that is. Developmental on the OL).
  6. I mean, the last two years we have been investing heavily in players for Phil Snow. the foundation of our O (OL and QB), potentially could be the weakest combo in the entire NFL. That could have something to do with why we struggle in scenarios…..where football is the most difficult. Think too much is falling on a 2nd year OC to simply scheme around such a weak foundation just because their is skill position talent.
  7. NFL is literally already doing what Biden wants other organizations to do. What he is proposed is a non-issue when it comes to the NFL.
  8. Well, we did win 3 straight NFCS titles going into that Super Bowl.... without knowing the future, that seemed like a much more optimistic window of time than present day.
  9. Kyler does have a pretty sweet baseball slide in his toolbox and pulls it out very effectively. He is smarter than a lot of other mobile guys IMO. Largely because he needs to be.
  10. you didn't feel good at anytime when we had Cam and Luke?
  11. Yep, the biggest problem with Sam Darnold is his decision making and what goes on upstairs.
  12. I'll be at a soccer game. I plan to go back and watch it if it is really good or really bad. If they can just manage a win I'll just watch the highlight clip and call it a day.
  13. I got zero issues with him being even keeled and saying the right things.
  14. because then, it's just a job to Sam. The pre-Cam mentality that Newton always spoke of when he first arrived. And I don't want that at QB. QB again, is THE most important piece of the puzzle. and it's not just a job for greats. And in the NFL you need a great QB. So again, why would we want Sam if the Jets game was just a game. Would it be just a game for Jordan or Brady? Or 89 or Cam? Heck, even the Delhomme tier of very good. Or maybe you can name great players who don't really care about getting revenge on a team that just deemed them trash.
  15. If Sam didn't want to humiliate the Jets....why the fug would we want him as our QB? and yes, you also want your QB to lie and say PC things like he did in front of the microphone.
  16. Fix is a weird word. Wentz showed he could be a very good NFL QB. So in theory, you could fix him. Sam Darnold has never been anything but Sam Darnold. So we are 4 years in still talking about can he develop.
  17. Hope Rhule brings that DBO sign to the stadium. If we lose....he gonna go need to take a lap.
  18. Murray had 800+ yards, 11 TDs, and picked up 52 1st downs with his legs last season. I'd think you would be forced to spy him situationally given the damage he is doing on the ground.
  19. only team I could see bringing Cam in because of an injury.....frankly would be NE if Mac had a very early season ending injury.
  20. I'm got the airpods in listening and will sum it up 1. Cam knows he is a distraction (or viewed as that). That a team thinks he is too big to be the backup and he frankly gets it. He would have backed up Mac though. But he gets that being a problem for Mac/the team in the big picture...to have a QB like Cam sitting behind Mac. He is a big figure. That draws attention. It's a problem if Mac faces adversity. Just who he is. More a distraction for those on the outside who bring it to the team than an in house thing. Cam isn't a distraction in house. 2. Mac wasn't teaching him the playbook. 3. Pops brings up the hair, clothing, etc. Basically acknowledges it impacts things for an AA QB. He wasn't making the arguement that it should of though. Just that it presently does. Not in the context of him losing the NE job. Just how Cam is overall viewed by the masses. 4. Vaccination. Cam's dad says he is vaccination hesitant. But doesn't want to get into all that. Cam just says he doesn't think vaccination was a factor. Cam says NE greenlighted his doctor appointment. He followed all the rules. He did imply he felt a little sabotaged there. But he followed all the NE guidance. 5. Pops says Mac exceeded his expectations. But doesn't think he beat Cam. Both implied either one of them was going to win with the Patriots this year. It is what it is. * he did have a noteworthy line about superheroes either die or live long enough to become the villain. He sometimes feels that is his world.
  21. Sam, PJ, and the practice squad guy could all get hurt today. Cam has a 0% chance of returning here.
  22. Cam sitting on a high school field with his dad interviewing him week 1...trying to argue why his NFL career isn't over. I love Cam. Tied with Luke as my favorite all time. But it's done for all practical purposes. And he is still probably one of the best 32 today. But there simply isn't a fit for Cam. He has to be one of the 32 starters. It just doesn't work any other way. He can't be a backup. And no team wants to go the Cam starter route it appears. Call it a day boss.
  23. there aren’t a lot of QBs growing on trees. Each offseason is a different beast. and just bringing in guys that should be a backup to start for a year isn’t a position I think Rhule can keep repeating for a 3rd straight year (if that is Sam). so it could be just keep the good guy to be a body while you “search” for something with more potential than continuing to repeat the pattern. And just because you want someone in the draft doesn’t mean the opportunity will be there…..especially if you win 7-9 games This was an abnormal draft in terms QBs available to gamble on
  24. I mean I said he was throwing his coaches under the bus publicly. Call it what you want. But a high end backup isn’t going to stay over employed long doing that. Sam will be easier to hang onto if he is no more productive than Teddy. NFL is straight up business. NFL has no problem with shitty teammates overall. Bad PR is bad PR. And coaches probably get all sorts of poo way worse than what Teddy said to their face….but behind closed doors. And the coaches after that started doing the same thing back at Teddy….in the public. the point being, I am not convinced Rhule will move on quick from Sam if he is simply the same dude he was in NY. Which while bad wasn’t some Jimmy Clausen type poo. Jets always had a punchers chance with Darnold.
  25. I think it is a fairly noteworthy point that Teddy started throwing a green staff under the bus publicly….and they essentially returned the favor. So keeping became not an option. Darnold will say the right things.
