Would you like to see Taylor Moton on the Bills?
Waldo replied to Carl Spackler's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sounds crazy but maybe? His play has been less than stellar lately so I don't think anyone would make a move for him right now. -
Jones: Tepper now looking for "a young offensive mind"
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't like any of the second paragraph options, like at all. Dorsey didn't build that system and he is an obvious step back from Daboll, feels a lot like Wilks to me. I'm not sold on Waldron either. He is doing good things, I like that they hired him from the Rams but I am not sold on his year yet. The other 2 are very interesting but like I said above I am waiting for the year to get a lot closer to over before we can have a more complete discussion on their years. Defiantly liking the first group and want nothing to do with the second group. I like your effort and input. What would you like to see for us moving forward? -

Jones: Tepper now looking for "a young offensive mind"
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think experience is where he have to step away from ideal and take a shot on a younger and less established coach. The interview process is going to be huge and also one we are not set up for well...again. Chances are we take a new HC that had less than desirable OC experience or we go with a stud DC who is going to have issues keeping the O relevant like our past defensive minded coaches. -
I think we are locked into doing that this offseason. How well is defiantly questionable.

The site prep wouldn't include the ramp. That sounds like something the city would negotiate in the stadium negotiation process. Still, way to early to have any conversations between the team and local leaders. Elections, recession, terrible product and recent massive failures lead me to believe it will be a while before anything meaningful ramps up. I think even Tepper said it was being pushed back 10 years last year?

Not too soon. No one would be willing to listen to a stadium deal right now. Maybe start with the team and practice facilities first?

Jones: Tepper now looking for "a young offensive mind"

If he was 0-2 with the team performing the same way I would think the same thing about him. I still think they hit a wall this year and that is fine. He is coaching up a bad O way beyond what was expected and he brought in a really good DC who is doing the same on that side. The jump to HC is a lot like the jump into the NFL for QBs coming out of school. I'm not sure I can define either one correctly but only vaguely which would be why it is always so hit or miss. Making the most of what you have, track record of building up elsewhere relevantly, not having your flaws covered by a system built by others and locked onto where the NFL is headed today and not yesterday sounds like great starting points. -

None of the guys with more experience looks great for us. Show me one of the D guys that is fluent in offensive competency and I will eat those words sir. McD is a beast but having Dorsey run the show is a step down from Daboll and he is going to be dealing with that his entire HC career and I could see it getting worse when Dorsey is hired away from him. That is just an NFL trend but an important one we are going to have to deal with also. I don't even care if the new HC comes from a winning team but a team that fought hard and his unit over achieved while showing strong strategic awareness in their coaching. -
It's like an advertisement to just blow it all up so there isn't any carryover. Fug that is bad.

I haven't learned about him enough and I am waiting for the season to finish before I look too seriously. He looks promising and those ties might be huge in the future. -

I agree. They have to keep all units of the team up and also work with an Owner and GM. Doresy feels like a Wilks type coach to me, good in a system and followed a better coach who set up everything for them. I don't believe they can build it themselves. Coordinators are just the most likely place to find a new HC unless you are looking in school which shouldn't be an option for us this time. We do need someone that can set up and run (directly or indirectly) an effective offense. A Daboll type is what I want us to find. A really good offensive mind at OC but also prime HC material matched with a DC who would be a HC if it was the league from 20 years ago. Dude is competing in year one before he clears the cap mess up. That is impressive as hell to me. -

If the Lions OC and Eagles OC can finish strong then they need to be looked at hard. Dorsey gives me Wilks vibes but I know he will be looked at. Even with Geno's success I don't want anyone from Seattle. Same with the Jets. -
NFL: Pats relationship with Mac Jones "gone sideways"

Never was he worth a 1st, not even a late 1st. Loved seeing him go to NE at 15 lol -
NFL: Pats relationship with Mac Jones "gone sideways"
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
His limitedness does not match well with Rhule's issues and limitedness. I don't think we would have won many more games last year or this year, Mac would have been Carr'ed more than likely. I used serviceable because he isn't terrible just terribly limited. The way Rhule ran this team and how QBs always played their worst were a kiss of death. I think Jones would have looked like 2022 Jones and not 2021 Jones under Rhule. Jones needs to go somewhere incredibly friendly and with a really good D. Might be good enough to give the 49ers another Jimmy G effect with Lance busting for them. -

Lol no QB played well on a Rhule team. They all had historically bad years ( I didn't and won't look at Cam's #s ). There is more to that story than I know but thems facts sir. If Rhule drafted him he might have ruined his career vs looking serviceable last year. -

I liked Lance but not for more than one 1st and he had plenty of bust potential. Last year looks so much worse but even a good enough for now QB has great value outside of the first. I'm with you on Young, I would need to see why he is the exception and not the rule. Stroud worries me less from a distance, all that school stuff goes out the window once they have an NFL coaching staff...if they staff is any good. If you have a chance at a guy with the physical skills, mental ability and tape to backup what they can be in the NFL and not all the school baggage then take the shot and don't worry about wasting just a 1st because if they are not the one then you just use another 1st until you find one (or hit the jackpot and find one outside of the 1st that is an actual franchise QB). All those guys need to finish this year so we can take a long look at the entire picture and not the ups and downs of a season. -

Jones is incredibly limited. Do not want and I love to see it but he isn't even the best QB up there now. Anyone that says we should go get him obviously didn't learn anything the last 3 years. -
Well he did help get rid of RA...

I would love to see Burns in a 3-4 but the 49ers do pull off that scheme that Snow failed to create here. The personnel on the DL and LBers with the 49ers would have Chinn at SLBer they would have Burns on at LDE. It could work with some personnel tweaks and improvements, just not the old version of it. Watching the 49ers version in our game made me realize that it can be donejust not the weak version Snow tried to run. No idea what the future holds and I like Burns and outside of a ridiculous offer we should just hold tight and get the new hires done first.
-
Stay or go, whatever. If someone offered a solid trade we would be dumb not to take it but I also get not forcing it. Keep the young guys on rookie contracts and vets are worth discussing.

umm Idiot id·i·ot /ˈidēət/ noun INFORMAL a stupid person.

For a 1st? Sure. He is the glitter in this turd of a year. He could be a great RB but he isn't here. He also isn't worth multiple 1st. Guys on IR multiple years in a row is a player no team should spend multiple 1st on. Still have to wait until next week at the soonest.

Sounds like Scott Fitterer will continue as Panthers GM in '23
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If a consultant was brought in it would be upfront and you know everyone would be evaluated. No need to keep it a secret. It's bad and Tepper needs the help regardless of Friterer's job decision. I would be more behind a consultant backing Friterer and helping him do this thing if he passed the evaluation, he would have a good chance. Fritterer didn't come up around the kind of role he would be asked to do moving forward. He was hired to be a GM under a coach just like in Seatle. I think Fritterer is profrssional enough not to go all RA lol. Do it sooner than later. No need to wait until the offseason.
