  1. I just stated the facts as I see them. We in fact don't even know if the people running the team are all that much of experts, hell Hurney made it 14 years here beginning with the skillset of a bad journalist and then professional sycophant and was never a successful expert (3 winning seasons). I sure hope they are great but they just have not proven it yet. I have no idea why that is such a negative thing for you but ignoring reality and just focusing on what you hope it is kind of goes closer to you being delusional than me trying to be an expert. Read my first sentence and actually try and comprehend. Not one thing I stated was untrue or overblown or even implying negative attachments to the discussion. If we want to run a great team then do great work. Just going into this season with our hopes tied to one maybe when they could set themselves up for double the chance to succeed would be a huge positive for this team vs what we did last year that imploded and is still costing us a huge cap hit.
  2. Donald is as huge of a risk as any of the top 4 rookies coming out. He has some seriously bad habits and he may improve them or not. Projecting hope doesn't actually improve the situation. The facts are he was at least option D for us. He has some serious issues and has not had a good coaching situation. Bad habits are very difficult to unlearn after years of negative reinforcements. He has a much better physical toolset than Teddy but Teddy has a much better brain. Build it up all you want but it's still a huge gamble. Not the investment but in actually getting a QB worth playing. At this time it is a MAYBE until proven otherwise. We should still add a QB and then it would show competence in team building from the staff that they understand more than the all knowing sports journalists and random & unknown 'expert'. My huge and known positive is he isn't Mac Jones lol. I'll take that all day.
  3. It would have to be a kings ransom to be worth it. Lance, Fields or LT all day.
  4. Lol. Lance is going 3rd, Jones is a backup in the NFL. At worst Lance goes 4th after the 49ers choke.
  5. My only question in regards to Little is why is he still on the roster? We have seen who he was and even the new coaches decided to sit him when we were desperate for bodies at his position last year. Healthy scratch in year 3 when desperate for warm bodies? Move him for anything at this point. We resigned Scott so we have a backup in place, go get another player to try and become a starter. Trade this one to WTF for a 7th 3 years from now.
  6. Seattle may have a lot of picks the last few years but their drafts have not been something to emulate. Fnding value late at the cost of better talent early is a bad approach to the draft and their team is only held together at this point by a QB they picked in 2012. Just take a QB or LT if they are available and if not then talk trade back. Years of garbage LT play and another year likely if we don't pick up one early QB is still a position of need for this team at this time, just as it was last year.
  7. Fox looks positive, not nearly as sexy as Reddick but positive. The rest is suspect to normal cheap swings at any positives. Still a lot of holes if you do not go by the warm body theory of management.
  8. Reddick and Fox are positives but then we look to be relying on some guys with real injury concerns and histories. As it stands? Concerned that we will not keep addressing those spots aggressively and will end up with a really thin roster again with a few bright spots. TDB until the draft.
  9. Shut it down. I haven't always agreed with Virge but she is a great contributer here.
  10. How are people counting on this guy? Because of how great he was in 2017? He really was. But he played in less than 50% of the games last year and not all of that was due to getting busted for PEDs. He has also been in decline the last 3 years. If it is real cheap it's a solid long shot type of pickup, hardly a building block we can rely on at this point tho. Geez, context. The 2nd year guys are above this guy as is right now. I'm not even sure if he can beat those guys out this year to make the 53. Again, good longshot but hardly a great player anymore or someone we can rely or should at this point.
  11. The Jets are moving on after 3 years with Sam after trading up for him and we only used 1 2nd rounder and we wouldn't move on until next year anyways. That just gives the rookie more time and Sam time to prove he is worth keeping next year. Best case we could leverage a QB next year for the price of Sam and keep the better one, worst case we dump the worst one and hopefully have a QB worth starting in 2022. The real problem is one will not be available at #8.
  12. Great, that is where he can thrive. Expensive backup level pay and play.
  13. Darnold has some serious negatives. Teddy looked like a much better brain and Darnold looks like a much better physical talent. Teddy follows the script, Darnold won't follow it. Brady has his work cut out for him. I get the conceptual part of it, I just don't believe in the end results being as automatic as pitched at this time. I would like to see a plan B this year, I'm guessing we draft one but probably later which I'm not sure counts as better 2021 plan B then Grier and Walker.
  14. They said Teddy was 2 years minimum due to sinking millions into him, a week ago half this forum said we wouldn't get rid of him because of the cost and he is out there right now trying to sell himself like a there is one last trick left. Failure in the NFL is super expensive.
  15. Played 70% of his games in the last 3 years and 43% last year...yeah sounds like out type lol. Whatever, just be cheap man.
  16. LoL. Neither has thrown for 20 TDs in a season. Teddy has actually started a full season. Where they were drafted really doesn't matter at this point. You are trying to build this up. Either he does or he doesn't. So far he hasn't and his play has given plenty of reasons to knock this down. Also, this staff has done jack positively on the offensive side so that is at best TBD. Brady so far is hype without production, hell he was still learning to call plays last season. The coaches look to have a type and it's broken with upside, that is fine but until it's not busted let's not pretend it's anything but that yet. What it could be and what it is right now are 2 separate things, at least until the season starts. No matter how much you hype that up, one is hope and the other is a fact. I'm not the one getting that twisted up. To a Brees or Tannihil or Young or we have Matt Leinart, Rex Grossmen, Byron Leftwich, Patrick Ramsey, Chad Pennington, Karry Collins, Brady Quinn, Richard Todd, Kyler Boller, Jeff Jorge, Rich Campbell, Vince Young, David Carr, Joey Harrington, Jack Thompson, Kelly Stouffer, Mike Phipps, Tim Couch, Cade McNown, Akili Smith, Jamarcus Russel and Ryan Leaf. But you have a HOF in Brett Farve to add. I have tons more to add. It's possible but please acknowledge the odds are against it happening and it's an uphill battle from this point but it is possible.
  17. Sure, just like we did last year with Teddy...just saying...
  18. He is a bust. Top pick, started and tossed aside. 3 years NFL experience. The upsides of reclaiming him are his age, physical talent and the fact we are hoping it was terrible coaching. Thats all fine but he has to prove it or we traded a 2nd for a bust. Also never played a full season. I committed to Cam, he was a franchise QB, our franchise QB. Teddy was a backup and never proved anything but that and always looked thst way regardless of hope or hype. Wanting Sam to be more is fine, pretending he already proved it is not gonna happen until he does it. This could be huge or another training camp year like last year, we missed and had no backup plan when plan A went to poop. Honestly, he looks like a bust but there is that chance they can turn it around.
  19. Nope, dude is a bust we are trying to reclaim. Maybe he will earn it but he is being replaced by the 2nd pick in the draft. Lol the 49ers paid a ransom for the 3rd pick, it's ridiculous to think we would bid over that. Might as well convinced the Jets to keep him and give up 3 first and whatever else for the 2nd.
  20. I saw franchise QB and Sam and I had flashbacks to 2020. Sorry sir. I re-read it and see that now. Please be right!
