I'm a little torn. I support a player asking for help and even demanding it but 'personal control' is out of thr question for me. If the team is that bad at personal management just go somewhere else. I also don't have a problem with the new and current balance where each side has some actions they can take in thr process. Franchise tag can work but it can also blow up in a team's face if they are stupid about the situation. I also like players having a trade clause or ability to sit to counter the teams ability to break a contract at any time. For me it is all about balance.

Please don't be in on this deal before the 3rd round.

Todd McShay mocks us to trade up with Miami to get Trey Lance
Waldo replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
He is my # 2. The others are more polished but lower ceilings. I still think the college competition angle is overblown. Also, Mahomes has raw AF when he was drafted, there is a reason he was still available at the 10th pick. I think the two main failures in scouting QBs is where they go maters more than where they came from and expecting a polished product is a pipedream at QB. The Jags will ruin the top QB and I bet the QB that finds the right home like Mahomes did will do better just on that fact alone. The teams picking in the top 5 are not known for being well run or coached. Top 10 slightly better with contenders sneaking in on down years or trades. As for the time off, it's unavoidable. Just like not having a combine. It's on the teams and their ability this year and hell I bet next years crop too to make it work. No one escapes this and you get 5 years for a 1st pick to get them producing and up to speed. Allen took a little longer and he is looking great right now. It matters but it's more of a hurdle than a deal killer for me. The NCAA was said because there is a lot of built in bias for people that watch NCAA football and act like they are not just well funded High School programs, armatures with some talent spikes for the NFL bound people and a handful of top tier schools that look like the top tier HSs with insanely funded programs. I like Lance's tape, raw but reminded me of Cam's year at that prep-school with better competition. He looks to have a great brain and personality. His arm looks great from what I have seen. So hard to tell until they throw a real football and not that tiny toy they use in the NCAA. -

I don't care about the NCAA. It's just practice to me. I look at it like if he did have another full year of film we wouldn't have a shot at him at 8. He is raw but his upside and what I have seen of his personality all point to being a high ceiling QB with good coaching. If we still had Ron I wouldn't think it's a great fit. Now I think we could get a Mahomes out of the kid. -
I like what he has done and what he has shown so far. I love the comment about the kind of players he asked to play S and CB. I am not worried about the D and a big part of that is that Snow looks great so far.

3.0 baby! I think at this point they should just stick to WTF as a name. It fits perfectly.

The more I learn about Lance, the more I like him and the less I am worried about his 'negatives'. I was hoping we had a shot at Lance at 3-5. Dream world he is at 8. -
The last RT we got from them did well at LT. Tag Moton, trade Moton for Brown and draft a RT. No idea if the Ravens are at all interested in letting Brown go.

It's just beautiful how they run full speed into failure without learning.

Per Joe Person: players Panthers would like to re-sign
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Three biggest needs in order. -
At times like this I wish our roster management had left us in a place where we could sign players like this that want a championship.

Latest NFL.com mock has us trading up to #2 for Zach Wilson
Waldo replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
3 to 5 is the sweet spot. Looking at Lance. -
That is crazy. Sounds like Seattle will be going oline heavy if they want to avoid an implosion.
-
Absolutely, I was just stating that Seattle's talent acquisition took a huge hit when he went to WTF.
-
Everything I looked at is their scouting went to trash when WTF hired their best scout. After that their quality was in stagnation. No idea yet how Fritters factors in but I am hoping their HC and GM are in a rut.
-
I thought things were great in Seattle. Look at their record, so much winning. If it is such a well run organization what is the problem? (heavy sarcasm) Looks like maybe that is an organization that has stagnated from their glory days. Without Wilson they fade back into the pack we hang with, they would be stupid to not figure out how to fix their Oline and keep Wilson. The HC and GM need to get their crap back together.

Fug Washington for their team and paper. I hope his new Marty gives Snyder a hemorrhoids from his production this offseason.

It was immediately a terrible move. That money was burnt when Teddy signed the deal.
-
June 1st sir. 2.0 magic baby!
-
If we miss on a better option then the money doesn't matter. June 1st Ted and sign another backup with the leftovers. Its a matter of movement. You can't keep a 'winning culture' if you do what already didn't work. Keeping Teddy is equivalent of not trying to win next year, even if the other had bad odds at least it is trying. This pot is going to get stirred.
-
Meh, we will play musical chairs with another backup QB before bringing back Teddy. He has no future here. It will be fun seeing some of the dead weight on this roster getting dumped this year. KK, Teddy and I bet a few surprise moves. Exciting times.
