  1. I wouldn't be against it, but I'm not sure there's going to be a team looking to move up at that spot. You figure it'd be for a QB, but I'm guessing Sanders goes before our pick so it'd have to be a team moving up for Cam Ward and I'm not sure that is likely to be the case. If we end up picking #5 I'd probably favor taking Tet McMillan (if he's there, which seems unlikely), Mason Graham, Will Johnson or even Malaki Starks. Granted, Starks would be a better trade-down option.
  2. Carter is a little too raw for me as a top-5 pick. Honestly sounds a lot like Travon Walker coming out of Georgia to me.
  3. Thielen is a free agent, isn't he? And regardless we need a younger version of him anyway. I see XL + Coker as our #1 and #2 with Palmer as the #3 in that scenario.
  4. Higgins is the only one I'd feel comfortable giving big money to. Godwin is good, but coming off a major injury and, IMO, hasn't flashed true #1 ability the way Higgins has. Granted, both play opposite elite WR1s. I do think there are some solid #3 options available; Josh Palmer from the Chargers is my favorite.
  5. Bryce, just because there's still room to grow. Jameis is what he's going to be at this point, which is probably underrated by most fans, but he's never going to be a true franchise QB long-term. He's basically the Vinny Testaverde of his generation. Bryce may not end up being a franchise QB either, but he still has a chance to be. Especially with his recent performances. Even if he never plays better than he has the past month that still likely means he ends up having a better overall career than Jameis in the long run.
  6. I said back in September the problem was primarily mental/confidence related. He apparently regained a good amount of his confidence while on the bench.
  7. Looking at the list of available FAs I'm not seeing a lot of impact players on defense. Most of the edge rushers are older (Khalil Mack), coming off achilles injuries (Dre Greenlaw) or overrated and likely to be overpaid (Jevon Holland). There are a handful of guys I think can fill needs that we should target on defense: - Nate Hobbs (NB, Raiders) - Elandon Roberts (LB, Steelers) - Malcolm Koonce (EDGE, Raiders) - Budda Baker (S, Cardinals) I think adding a solid nickel in Hobbs and a younger veteran EDGE like Koonce could set us up nicely to take an EDGE in the 1st round or even Mason Graham. On offense, I honestly think re-signing Brady Christensen should be a priority. He's arguably one of the most versatile OL in the league and can backup at any OL position and start if necessary. Other than that, I do think if we're going to spend big in free agency it needs to be on a #1 WR and that means Tee Higgins. I also think a good young slot receiver like Josh Palmer from the Chargers or someone who can play the Adam Thielen role, but younger.
  8. Damn, there are some really ass teams in the NFL this year.
  9. We're seeing growth. Considering what weeks 1 and 2 looked like we've made huge strides. Still need some pieces and time for our young players to develop, but I'm more optimistic than I've been in a long time about this team.
  10. Dave Canales missed two field goals and fumbled in overtime?
  11. The plan better damn well be to extend him. We finally have a solid OL; we don't need to be letting proven players go when we've finally got some along the OL.
  12. I will never put the Burns situation on Morgan. He got the best deal he could considering we had zero leverage. Fitterer was the one who screwed that situation up by not taking the Rams offer.
  13. That play he made to go up and get the ball downfield is something we haven't seen from a Panthers TE since Greg Olsen. Sanders could be a star with some more development.
  14. No need to rush him back out there unless he's actually 100%.
  15. Best game of Bryce's career. Progress all around.
  16. Agreed. Taylor Moton has been the only consistently reliable high quality player we've had in the Tepper era that has stuck around.
  17. I imagine starting Cade Mays has everything to do with him already being under contract next season and Christensen not. If they feel like the performance level is similar, they probably want to see if Mays can play well enough down the stretch to win the starting job going into next season. Plus, yeah, Brady Christensen is an excellent depth player given he can play literally every position on the OL at a solid level. Personally, I'd like to see us extend him regardless just for that alone. He might legitimately be the most versatile OL in the league.
  18. He's actually done better in Dallas than I was expecting.
  19. I will never understand how that organization gave him $40M/year after a "breakout" season that saw him throw a grand total of 15 TD passes. I'm not even sure Tepper would sign off on something that stupid.
  20. McDermott would have been fired after 18 games and Tepper would have hired Urban Meyer.
  21. XL will be fine. Even if he does have the drops every now and then I'll take that over someone who catches everything but doesn't know how to get open.
