Official New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers Gameday Thread!
ForJimmy replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m actually loving watching this defense play. That Saints line is no joke and we were making them look average at best… -

DJ Moore = Panthers points and fantasy points for me. That’s a win win! -

A fake hand off roll out would have worked perfect there. The whole defense was crashing the middle before he even got the ball… -

If Rhule leaves (he won’t, but it’s a fun game to play), he takes Snow with him. I’d assume we would bump Joe Brady to head coach right? Not sure how I feel about it, but it seems like the most logical approach…

I assume they are trying to see how good CJ is here by sending him against Horn. We are a FS away from having a scary good secondary!

Thoughts on Elflein, our O-line, the jets and the aints.
ForJimmy replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Darnold never really had a clean pocket and it was mostly due to the interior. Not allowing a sack doesn’t necessarily mean the guard played well. It means our QB and OC played/called a good game despite our interior line getting rocked every play. Maybe Elf will play better in the future, but it didn’t look good last Sunday. -
I was waiting for Sizzle to come running in here when Tepper was mentioned. I swear that guy has a poster on him on his ceiling…

I’ll fluff your forum!

If it’s just conditioning and Deonte has good work ethic, then it shouldn’t be long…
-
Hell our own QB (Darnold) got a pass for his first three years because there wasn’t much talent around him. Cam found himself in similar situations several years with us and last year in NE (not as bad as NYJ), but never got a pass.

Damn and that was against the Jets… I can’t blame Darnold for overthrowing a couples passes considering the poo that was in front of him…

8 Saints test positive for Covid (coaches and player)
ForJimmy replied to BlitzMonster's topic in Carolina Panthers
We need to post a COVID topic every couple days to clear out some of these idiots. -
I mean there hasn’t been much available with giving up capital which we desperately need right now. I think we would have drafted Sewell if he dropped to us and just weren’t that high on Slater. Outside of that we would have been reaching or trading away picks to get one. We got TC at a good spot for value. Erving didn’t look terrible Sunday either, or maybe Elf was just so bad he made Erving look decent….
-
Fair, but at least they are drafting young talent and not completely ignoring it. TC was a 3rd rounder I believe. I hope he can work his way into the lineup soon so we can at least see what we have in him.

Paying Moton was a good start as well as drafting Christensen and Brown. Let’s hope we further address it next offseason. We seemed really fixated on fixing the defense these past two…
-
Excuse me sir, but do you have a moment to hear about the glory of PFF of Latter-day NFL?
-
I like his name.

I have a feeling our staff thought Erving was good enough at LT. After we traded for Darnold Fitts was saying we can now draft BPA (implying our needs were somewhat met) If you are drafting in the top 10 you really don’t want a player with a higher risk. We did it last year with Brown and the year before with Burns and CMC several years ago. Lowest risk with a high reward. You have to hit on those players. Slater played G and RT at NW and didn’t play LT until his final year. There were also a few issues with his measurements when scouting. Horn looked and played like an elite CB against elite competition with an elite bloodline for several years in a row.
-
I think we were just more confident in Horn being elite vs Slater. Lower Risk/Still High Reward and he addressed one of our biggest issues last year. Getting off the field on 3rd down.
