  1. We did, and then brought him back. We have a dead cap hit for him based on cutting him from his rookie contract. This contract is a one year non-guaranteed.
  2. It's not that hard to understand. I was one who liked Stroud over Young. It's a simple matter of what we knew pre-draft. Always keep that lens in mind. We didn't have all this inside knowledge prior to the draft. All we had to go on is college tape, the combine and pro days.
  3. I suspect if Corbett and Zavala weren't both injured they'd give BC a shot out there. But with those two injured, our options at guard are nearly as limited as our options at tackle.
  4. There is no way they keep both. Byrd and Smith are the same player.
  5. Man, Mingo nearly as big as Moose. I really hope he lives up to his potential. He could be a game changer for us.
  6. Because Denver was already running a 3-4 when Evero arrived. We were a 4-3.
  7. Honestly, I don't hear a lot of hate for Tim B. He was a good player who just could not stay healthy. We may have to face that with a couple CB's on our current roster in fact.
  8. This year could be 2010 or 2011. We'll go as Bryce goes, that simple.
  9. I did too, but if you watch the throws, you can see him pat the ball before throwing. Stroud doesn't do that.
  10. Our overall record puts us 23rd in the NFL - exactly third tier. How can the media do or say anything else? Moving out of that tier is relatively simple, all you have to do is string together 5-7 winning seasons in a row. We have not shown the ability to do so. Until we get out there and prove otherwise, we'll continue to be what we've always been: A mediocre team that occasionally flirts with greatness only to disappoint.
  11. We all love TD, but that's a stat made up to fit some silly narrative. We'd already been to a SB by the time TD was drafted. It's like saying Brees has played in every Saints playoff game since 2001.
  12. For a first overall draft pick, I'd be a lot more concerned if we got to August and the staff said "He's just not ready".
  13. Now there's something no one could have anticipated a year ago. We have a rookie QB who is in a better position to succeed than one who went to the Patriots. If the team finally turns around here, the moment it happened won't be when we drafted Young, it will be when we hired Reich.
  14. Washed. Played a total of 8 games since 2020 and been awful in all of them.
  15. Great conversation. Would love to see these two sit down with Jake.
  16. The only sane answer here is to put Corral on the field this offseason and let him compete. There is literally zero down side to that. What if he beats out Young or just looks like a quality QB? No! I don't think it's likely! Completely unlikely. However, what if he did? You can instantly recoup some draft capital for whichever QB you choose to offload. Brock Purdy just showed us that no one has any clue about QB's. If you have a young, relatively proven guy you can get capital for him. How much do you think the 49ers could get for Purdy once he proves his elbow is healed? There is absolutely no reason to get rid of Corral, and every reason to cheer him on. No one knows the outcome, and success can only benefit the team. Where is the problem?
  17. Hopefully we don't lose any of them THIS time around. Keeping them for two seasons means we get draft compensation when they leave.
  18. Unfortunately that lands him squarely in territory to do our games.
  19. When healthy isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. Guy is talented, there is no doubt. If he ends up missing time this year, I'm afraid he's never going to make the impact we need.
  20. I trust our coaching staff to develop our quarterback in the best way possible for his long term success. Whatever that might look like, and whatever the Huddle thinks of it, is simply not important.
  21. I am still blown away how so many people are sure that Corral has no future in the NFL based on a training camp where we had two "first stringers" in a "competition" for a completely crap coaching staff. Followed by 20 plays in the fourth quarter of the first preseason game. Really? Look, I expect Corral isn't anything special, but for heavens sake, let's see what this staff can do with him. Who know, maybe he gets coached up, looks good in preseason and we can flip him for a draft pick.
  22. I'm actually a little surprised we haven't brought Ionnidis back. He seems well suited to being a 3-4 DE, and that's where his best years came.
  23. If the guys coming off our bench are average, we are in a great place.
  24. Hooker was back on the field doing drop back drills two days ago. I don't see him missing the season. He may not be 100% for camp, but I think he's got a chance to play.
