  1. New coach, rebuilding, no identity. Yes, they have a few pieces on the OL, but that is far from their only issue. My point was no matter how good a rookie QB prospect is, bringing him into the scenario like I listed (in our case horrible OL too) is setting the guy up for utter failure. That's why I can't wrap my head around these people pounding the table for a QB. My only thought is: QB=Super important, therefore it's the automatic default option, especially to those that don't follow the draft process.
  2. In about every mock I've seen we are taking OT or QB, probably split 2/3 OT to 1/3 QB. QBs either being Pickett or Corral. Several mocks have Neal, Ekwonu and Cross gone in the top 7; we get OT #3. The Jets and Giants get OT #1 and #2. There's not even a consensus #1 QB and they are all over the place. So tell me again, if mocks are having the top three LTs snatched up in the first 7 picks and some mocks don't even have a QB going in the top 7, why are we even having this discussion?
  3. Cam isn't likely to get bites elsewhere, so a two-year deal may work. If Rhule is canned, he should be willing to come back. We are paying Darnold whether he's here or not, so might as retain him. Let the two battle it out.
  4. The court presents Trevor Lawrence as evidence. /case closed
  5. Can be as quick as two seasons. Heck, I'm even okay with a losing record next year with a new HC as long as he can clip 5 wins and not tank after the League gets film on his team.
  6. Bump, at this point we need 42 more votes to show how badly this fan base wants him gone. If it ends up 100-1, then it's obvious dude has completely lost this fan base.
  7. Just wait until the Bucs embarrass us at home, then pull the trigger. It's only two games left then. The interim coach then tells the whole team they are being heavily evaluated for next season--whomever that HC may be, so the final two games aren't complete dumpster fires and the guys still play hard.
  8. *cough* Josh McDaniels *cough* Seriously, the list is very short. I remember when Bill Cowher's name kept being brought up for job openings several years after he left the Steelers, but he always declined.
  9. Rhule thinks he's being set up as the scapegoat. No dude, your players aren't intentionally sabotaging the season to spite you. You suck as a coach and they deserve better!
  10. That's my only rationale as to why Rhule is still here. If Tepper fires Ruhle, his only two HCs he canned in-season. That's not very attractive to potential candidates.
  11. Rhule has cast is vote, lol! Ok bud, it's not 100% landslide poll, but your goose is cooked!
  12. He's a day 3 prospect at this point, we've got plenty of those picks to burn on a project QB.
  13. Even so, doesn't mean the conversion actually happens. Did Rhule own up to the stupidity of going for it on your own 49-yard line so early in the game? No, probably not.
  14. No, that's the reason I didn't use direct quotation marks. However, calling out the QB for holding onto the ball to long as he's running for his life most of the day kinda implies that.
  15. Can we get to 99% this week? Rhule can only vote for himself once.
  16. Yep, the "give the man a fighting chance' and/or 'we don't want to be the Jets/Browns constantly changing head coaches' people will chime in. Honestly, it's probably less than 10% of the fan base at this point though.
  17. Nah, we should b able get LT #2 or #3 unless a team trades ahead of us. Some stud DEs in this draft and that will eat up a couple of picks ahead of us.
  18. I wonder if I put my tickets up for $1 each, if they would even sale?
  19. I don't disagree at all, but firing Rhule only two years into a seven-year deal has egg all Tepper's face. He's got a choice, give Rhule a year three and hope he improves or pulls a Jacksonville by chalking up the loss now, optics be damned.
  20. If Tepper is even thinking about pulling the trigger, he can start digging now. This season is over. No more roster moves of consequence to be made. Tepper can get Fitts to low-key do some research and begin to build a candidate list. Crazy enough, I think Tepper holds onto Rhule because he gave Matt such a large window to rebuild in. If it were just a 4 or 5 year deal, he could pull the trigger, but on a 7-year deal it makes him look impatient.
  21. Rhule: I made the right call, damn it...stupid players are making me look bad!
  22. Eh, it can wait a little over a week. It's not like we are going to beat the Bucs anyway. Since the game is at home, Tepper can have a locksmith on hand at halftime to re-key Rhule's office and then tape Matt's pink slip to the door.
  23. Rhule: 'the OL played well today, this loss is on the QB.'
