  1. How we managed to screw up our drafts this much was simply incompetence on monumental level.
  2. Russ is a west coast snob now. He's too good for east coast teams, especially piss ant markets like Charlotte. He'll retire first.
  3. Sure, starting with a couple of our own guys YGM and Haynes (if healthy). Those are depth pieces, but there others that can be had in the $10M range. I get it, Burns is going into his second contract...the money contract, so he's playing hard ball. There are plenty of guys looking to build towards the money deal and others that already had their money deal to choose from. Let some other team make Burns rich.
  4. Most of us are and the reason why going OL in a deep CB and WR draft doesn't really compute. Anything is possible and if a run on DBs and WRs takes place, then other positions will fall, including OL. In that scenario, I wouldn't be opposed to taking OL. Outside of that, you take the skill positions in a deep class where you lack those very skill players.
  5. Sorry, but the team/cap friendly re-signing choice wasn't a realistic option. I thought about it, but if that were in the cards, a deal would have already been done by now.
  6. The draft, FA or wait until next year. It's not like we are going to even sniff the playoffs, so one player isn't worth holding the entire team ransom over.
  7. Yep, Bree's tip of nose lines up with Strouds mouth, so an inch to two difference in their height. Stroud is reportedly 6' 2" (and change) meaning Brees is between 6'0" and 6'1". Brees' nose tip is above Bryce's eyebrows and while every face is different, could be as much as 4 inches! Extrapolate that and you have a 5'8" to 5'9" QB. Young is not 5'10", I don't care what his bio says.
  8. Hmmm....unsure about that. They didn't technically didn't hit free agency, but you also lost a high value player to another team, which is what the compensatory process is all about.
  9. Quick trigger on the submit button (a problem I have ) so I had to go back and finish the rest of the poll. My bad.
  10. I want to say franchise tag (non-exlusive) but I don't think he's going to get as much interest to warrant the two first rounders in that trade. I think we lose in a transitional tag battle. To me, it's best to find a trade partner before the deadline.
  11. Two weeks until the deadline for tagging players. What should we do with Burns?
  12. I got all of that, but they are under contract for THIS year. You stated you didn't want depth and that's what would be drafted at #33 unless someone falls. I'm not about taking unnecessary dead cap hits either. So let this season play out, draft a guy in maybe the 3rd or 4th round for the OL, and go from there.
  13. Absolutely. Also, was that subtle shot at the Teppers, lol? They are professionals, just not in NFL player evaluations.
  14. Icky had a down year after an impressive rookie campaign, but he's not going anywhere. Heck, the entire OL had a down year. Moton is entrenched. All three IOL are under contract and outside of BC, are owed a nice bit of money. I don't doubt we draft an O-lineman, I just don't see it at #33. Not completely out of the question, but unlikely with the other needs that will be sitting there and without the need to reach.
  15. Other than WR, the only positions I can justify at #33 are Edge, CB or DL. OL possibly, but a second round rookie isn't beating out any of our starters IF HEALTHY. We can ill afford to have pick #33 sitting on the bench even in a rotational situation.
  16. Looking around the web, most draft sites have him in the 3rd-to-4th round range right now. As we know, if he has a great pro day and Combine, he could make to the 2nd round. Will he be better than the dudes that will be sitting there at #33? I don't know, but he's a great trade down target if the team values him closer to the middle of round 2.
  17. The problem being it's a super weak TE class. I would normally be on board with this. LaPorta has lived up to the billing where he was drafted, but Kelce an Kittle were late round gems. Kinda like saying we are going to find our starting QB in the 6th or 7th round because Brady and Purdy are evidence it can be done. We are going to have to find a TE in FA or hope a day 3 guy can turn into Kelce or Kittle lite. Absolutely zero reason to draft a TE in the second or third round due to the positional weakness this draft cycle.
  18. Yup, my theory too. It wasn't too far fetched to think at least one of them would fall to #9. Only the paranoid QB obsessed types thought all four of them would be gone. Heck, this year's class is much better and may not have four QBs go in the top 10, although three will for certain. As we all know, Levis even fell to round 2.
  19. Stroud looks like the real deal, but let's see his sophomore year. The rest of that QB class it's looking kinda how I envisioned thus far. I have to admit Young looked even worse than I thought (being on the Panthers is probably why) and yes, Stroud over-performed. As a class however, I wanted to stay away in favor of this year's QB crop. Man is it looking loaded! I was rounded mocked by people for wanting to kick the can one more season and thus was labeled the "One more year guy." I hate that we got stuck with a player that doesn't fit this team or the NFL in general, but for the folks that couldn't wait as this team is now mired down in squalor of the NFL basement, it's a bittersweet feeling for me.
  20. I'm with you. I have just started getting the itch, but a mild one. The draft itch normally starts in late November for me, after conference Championships wrap up. This year it was late January and I'm still not super into it.
  21. I hope so, unless there's a run on WRs.
  22. Look at it like this, we acquired the Chiefs pick and then traded back one spot. It's not so bad then.
  23. We have options at WR, guys. I have no idea what everyone is anxious over, outside of the fact the Carolina Panthers suck at drafting WRs...especially in the second round. Big board ranked 27-44 Again, there are plenty of options at WR, we just have to choose the RIGHT one of those remaining.
  24. I know this is satire, however the irony is I knew it was a suicidal move last year although most fans were on board with it. As ridiculous as your statement looks now, it was THAT ridiculous to me last year.
