  1. https://overthecap.com/positional-spending In 2025 the Panthers are 10th in offensive spending and 28th in defensive spending. But yeah let's blame everything on the defense...
  2. 1. There was already a thread here about that hours ago and there are currently two threads on that going in the Tinderbox. 2. Do you really think you were the first one to post about it this late? 3. Get over it and move on.
  3. Average age of their roster is 25.23. Average age of the Panthers roster is 26.32. We are absolutely cheeks at talent evaluation and development.
  4. Looks like a Dan Quinn team to me. With the Falcons his team overachieved two years in a row then back to back 7 win seasons then 0-5 then see ya.
  5. Sam Darnold Baker Mayfield Justin Fields Daniel Jones The grasping at straws namedropping QB's who all have the necessary physical tools to compensate for other areas in an attempt to prop up a QB who does not and has poor processing is getting awkward.
  6. It's wild but there have been people placing most of the blame on Renfrow.
  7. He should be under consideration absolutely. But there's a whole lot of time between now and the draft and there will be QB's who rise and fall.
  8. That's a serious word salad. Anywho. Both Justin Fields and Daniel Jones have always had something Bryce Young does not possess. The necessary physical tools.
  9. How do you reconcile with the fact that the most competent and productive the Panthers passing offense has looked at any point between 2023 and 2025 were both games where Andy Dalton (who is completely washed and terrible) started? 680 passing yards and 5 touchdowns in two games. And one of those games was with Frank Reich as the head coach. This team needs competent QB play.
  10. I agree we don't need a top pick. But at this point wherever we end up in round 1 we're just going to have to throw another dart at it. I concur wholeheartedly about our evaluation. If it were up to me every single draft scout would have already gotten their walking papers. But I think we both know who is actually pulling strings so I guess it probably doesn't matter? But all we have to do is just take a chance on a QB that actually has the physical intangibles necessary as a starting point. It's always going to be a crapshoot but that's the bare minimum we need to be looking at going forward. This trying to break the mold and draft the NFL QB equivalent of Steph Curry foolishness needs to get out of the damn building now and forever.
  11. I mean it's more than too early he has played a single game lol. He could be another Anthony Richardson or he could take his lumps and become a better QB for it. Here in Carolina there are multiple problems but I'm tired of the hit dog mentality. There are QB's who could at least have this team competitive. I've never expected a winning season but we don't have to be so downbad we are getting blown out by previously 4 win teams.
  12. Yeah Kyler definitely hasn't lived up to billing. But this is a tough league. If a guy doesn't want greatness there's nothing you can do. But even the guys who don't want that and spend their days playing video games instead of studying film can shine brighter more often than someone who is just physically outmatched altogether. Unfortunately we have learned this in real time. But I agree entirely about first overall picks in general. You don't need to be in that slot to get a decent starting QB. That's another tough lesson the Panthers are learning. Anywho. We'll see how our head coach has his team prepared this Sunday. I just want to stop looking horrible early in the season when everything is still at stake. These late season runs when we are already eliminated do nothing for me and they have clearly done nothing for our team culture as previously suggested.
  13. I can get with much of what you're saying here. But I also would say although Kyler Murray is roughly around the same height as Young (he's taller sadly) he is physically a much different QB. And he has a much higher career completion percentage. I mean it is not controversial to say he is a superior passer and probably it isn't all that close. We just need to be honest with ourselves at this point in time in Bryce Young's third NFL season as a starter. For further clarification. Bryce Young has one game with 300 or more passing yards. Kyler has 15 in his career.
  14. It just highlights that the supposed best attribute about Bryce Young that being his football IQ and elite processing was fools gold from the start. Daniel Jones is not really that much better in that area. But. Like Sam Darnold. Jones has the physical talent in order to compensate for it at times. Though both have faltered like Bryce when the lights are bright too. They can at least put up significant yardage and put the ball places other QB's can't. Bryce does not and never did have that. Every little thing on both sides of the ball have to go perfect for him to be even serviceable. That is why it was such a foolish gamble to make. If you trade up like we did you take the best physical passer or you don't trade up. Even the Giants after giving Jones that contract they are still in a more advantageous position QB wise than we are. Because they weren't stupid enough to give up a haul and a talented WR for a physical outlier at QB. It's all self inflicted. Sigh...
  15. And if we're being honest Daniel Jones is still the better QB by a wide margin. And he has a playoff win.
  16. Bryce does throw to the middle that's not the issue the issue is it ends in catastrophe all too often. And that is unfortunately directly related to his physical attributes.
  17. It's in Arizona. But it's always fun waiting even longer to find out if we are going to fall victim to yet another ass kicking.
  18. At this point based on what we know of how ownership operates and has meddled in the past it stands to reason that Canales was basically told Evero is going to be your DC if you take this job. And he accepted.
  19. If your issue is with Evero then you need to direct your ire toward the Panthers front office as they are the ones who denied interview requests for him and made absolutely no attempt to even consider any other options for the position.
  20. Also I would say 98% of the huddle is in agreement Evero is not it. But no discussion about the defense changes the fact that we have invested exorbitant resources in the offense via the draft and free agency in our attempt to make Bryce Young a serviceable starter.
  21. You create yet another thread about this subject don't get the responses you like and then proceed to complain about the platform as a whole. Stop creating threads.
  22. You ask this question while just casually glossing over the fact that we are dedicating the highest amount of salary cap to the offensive line across the entire league and we are ahead of the 2nd and 3rd teams by a very significant amount. That is a huge contributing factor for why the defense is in the state that it's in. So complaining about the defense in a context of making excuses for the offense and specifically the QB is only going to result in people questioning your sincerity on the subject.
  23. PFF can put out whatever they like. I'm going to watch these upcoming games with my own eyes and form conclusions based on that. And at the end of the day there can be different things true at one time. Xavier Legette could end up being yet another swing and a miss. But if we are operating with the same set of rules that many have applied for our first overall pick then it is still quite early. But I don't expect consistency from that lot. As far as our staff and PFF goes I am a firm believer that no matter what happens the rest of the season we need to fully purge the college scouting staff from top to bottom and also rethink our use of analytics going forward because we have been terrible and we remain terrible.
  24. It's going to be run heavy but it won't last long either way. Based on how some of our expensive defensive free agent additions performed against the Jaguars and the fact we have so many young players already on the defense unfortunately the odds are high we could once again find ourselves in an early hole on the scoreboard. If the Panthers passing game continues as they have it will be over quickly.
  25. I'm trying to be kind but yeah. The Jaguars did nothing out of the ordinary or exotic they didn't even blitz much. They had absolutely no concern about Bryce's passing ability. That cannot be understated.
