  1. I share your hope that they feel that way. But we just don't know. The unfortunate reality with Bryce Young is that he is now officially in year 4 as an NFL starter and we are still at a place where week to week we basically toss out all the bad every time he shows any minimal semblance of what could be perceived to be good even if it's something bare minimum that 31 other starters are supposed to be capable of. I've never seen this for another QB. Certainly never seen it for a Panthers QB. I just cannot say with confidence at this juncture that our decision makers are going to approach further evaluation of Bryce Young going forward with the emotional attachment to the investment removed from the equation. We've seemed to have high standards for every other position on the field for going on 3 years now. I'll believe that's actually changed when I see it in action with my own eyes.
  2. Certainly I would like to retain his services but maybe he's been anointed to a pedestal he doesn't quite deserve here in such a short time. He was heavily involved in the 2024 draft class was he not? The 2025 class has been much much better in comparison but still it's not as if things have been going perfectly from top to bottom. If this franchise and specifically Dan Morgan cannot survive losing Tillis then we're doomed regardless.
  3. Canales has definitely made some baffling decisions with the backfield but as far as abandoning the run game I cannot take anyone seriously throwing out that criticism while ignoring the albatross that is Bryce Young. We have been struggling to run the ball largely because defenses have the tape on us from earlier in the season and until Bryce Young can move the ball through the air more than 5 yards at a time and stop constantly bailing on pockets they will continue to play us the same way. Throwing at or behind the line of scrimmage late in games is not going to help establish the run game. It only makes defenses jobs easier.
  4. Also what specifically does Brad Idzik do besides whisper sweet nothings in Dave Canales ear????
  5. Yeah tough talking the WR room but trotting out one of the worst QB rooms three years running is unbelievably lacking in self awareness.
  6. Apparently rumors are Lamar Jackson has been unhappy with Harbaugh and the staff overall. I've largely been rather indifferent to Lamar but I don't see why he has that kind of organizational pull considering he can't even get over the playoff hump. If he continues to fail to move forward in the playoffs or fails to make the playoffs at all with a new staff he only has himself to blame. Regardless he is now putting the pressure squarely on his own shoulders. Good luck bud.
  7. In terms of Bryce in 2026 I don't think either outcome changes things much if at all. It's up in the air what level of competition the QB room will have come training camp. Personally having seen the QB room at work I know what the team needs but our decision makers have shown 3 consecutive years that they value comfortablility over good old fashioned healthy competition. Ultimately everyone is going to have to reconcile with the fact that Dan Morgan and David Tepper are in lockstep with one another on salvaging the trade and selection for better or worse and that will remain a factor.
  8. I didn't think the Ravens would actually do it. But they better get the next hire right because they could easily end up like the Raiders if they aren't careful. Harbaugh will be sought after. If it were me regardless of what happens in this upcoming playoff game I would absolutely be considering the possibility of bringing in Harbaugh in some capacity. And if the Rams game goes horribly I would have him under heavy consideration for outright replacing Canales.
  9. Zavala is ok depth for the time being. He's not great but he's not Amini Silatolu guys calm down.
  10. Jamarcus got 25 starts Christian Ponder got 36 starts Jake Locker got 23 starts And at no point toward the end of those starts were any fans praising them for doing very basic things 31 other starting QB's are supposed to be capable of.
  11. This all lines up with his limitations. I'm guessing the usual characters will ignore these damning deep dive statistics and continue to hone in on obscure metrics.
  12. Hornets beat the Bulls a few days ago and just blew out the Thunder in OKC. They are consistently inconsistent but the culture seems to be shifting with the emergence of the young core.
  13. I used to think the Panthers social media team just lacked awareness but the delusion is apparently by design.
  14. Everyone here knows my position on Bryce Young. The only thing that would make me largely detach from the team would be signing Geno. He's basically another Andy Dalton (terrible) and he's a top to bottom ungrateful douchecanoe.
  15. We can do wayyyyyyy better than Geno Smith's services.
  16. TMac had some rookie gaffes but for the most part he has played well above expectations considering who has been throwing him the ball. He should be ROTY.
  17. It bares repeating. This board has mercilessly ridiculed Caleb Williams. Yet many of the same people make every excuse under the sun for Bryce. Caleb Williams is 7th in passing yards and 6th in passing touchdowns. Bryce Young is 31st in passing yards per game. What are our standards here????
  18. The running game was dominant at one point. The albatross has been the passing game. And aside from the anomaly in Atlanta our passing game has been consistently underwhelming at best. Canales playcalling and decision making has left a lot to be desired to say the least. At the end of the day though there is a rational argument to be made that we really need to see this group with a QB that opens up the entire field consistently.
  19. He was certainly a capable college coach. Seems he benefited greatly from the structure of the front office in his early days in Seattle. As much as it pains me to say. They are a very well ran organization for the most part.
  20. On the one hand the Raiders are the Raiders. But Pete has been living off that one Super Bowl win where the Denver Broncos basically never showed up from the first snap (must be nice) and his only other claim to fame is giving away the next Super Bowl by trying to cater to Russell Wilson instead of just giving the ball to Marshawn Lynch and winning the game. The Seahawks let Pete hit the road traded Metcalf hired Mike MacDonald and they are as good as they've been in years. Pete Carroll has just been overrated for quite awhile now. It is what it is.
  21. What really sunk Pete is how hard he went to bring in Geno Smith who is not only not a good quarterback but an asshat to boot.
  22. He's a monster. Need more guys like him with that kind of attitude on defense.
