He was horrible, granted it can take a few years for a player to develop but he wasn’t good at first and there were a lot better players who we could have gotten. The criticism was valid. Also you are so dumb you can’t think long term. Maybe sucking a season or two is better long term because you can draft a franchise player which will make you a good team for decades. Smart people realize this. They realize the higher the draft pick the better chance you have at getting a top player. Sure you could fail but let’s not act like there isn’t a big talent drop off from a top 3 pick to mid first round. That’s just stupid. If you want the panthers to win the rest of their games after basically being eliminated from the playoffs then you are a moron who believes participation trophy’s matter. Wilks only had one job and that was to lose and he couldn’t have done that right. If we would have made the playoff we wouldn’t have made it because we were good, we would have made it because Tampa was horrible and our division sucked. Wilks is a sub.500 coach who has never beaten a winning team. Seahawks aren’t a winning team and had a weak schedule. You honestly want to keep a sub.500 coach? I would say DE. A good pass rush can mask a bad secondary. What was it 2013 or 14 when we had the best pass rush but horrible secondary? It didn’t matter because we were so good at getting to the qb.

Omg we criticized a player when they did bad… we are so horrible. Omg we want to be able to get the top qb in the draft so we can finally have a chance at a franchise qb. But yeah we are the bad guys because we don’t want to win out with a bad team and somehow make the playoffs with a losing record only to get blown out by the first good team we play.

Exactly! How many times times under Rivera would we start the season as the worst team, basically guaranteed a top 3 pick if we lose out only to go on a win streak after we get eliminated? I get it wins are important but winning when you are eliminated is pointless. Yes I know it’s not a guarantee to get a great player if you tank but you will be the first team to get a pick of any player you want. Also we could have traded that pick for more first rounders. Imagine how many more top players we could have had then?

Imagine thinking a qb is a bust after just 2 years…. Alex smith was worse for probably 6-7 years, lots of QBs were bad their first few years.

Truth is fields and Wilson had high bust potential. While they are still young and could end up turning things around I think people need to realize that they both had some red flags.

To be fair Orlando brown was horrible in work outs, I think historically one of the worst all time and look how he turned out. He was arguably the top LT in the draft for a while. Some players just don’t have enough to make it to the next level.
