  1. Nobody is changing their mind in here. Either you believe something or you don't. Again goes back to my earlier point. You can't change the mind of people who aren't arguing something dependent on facts. And I don't mean that as an insult. It is just the truth. How can I argue against, "one man can decide the outcome of a play." Like... you can't. At that point facts don't matter. It just comes down to what you believe vs what you don't believe. Which is why I think this discussion is pointless. There is nothing to discuss. You either believe it or you don't.
  2. "More people are talking about it." You are living in the moment. Sports fans have complained about bad calls and the sport being "scripted" since the beginning of time. This is literally nothing new. Same is true for NBA, MLB, NHL, etc. There is nothing that is going to change by people complaining on the internet. Bad/missed calls has always been a thing.
  3. Wow, I thought it the idea of the NFL being rigged was crazy. But now that it is trending on Twitter? Definitely changed my mind.
  4. Yes, this is the perfect comparison for NFL being influenced/rigged.
  5. Wrestling fans don’t complain about wrestling being scripted.
  6. Yes and everyone accepts TV for what it is.
  7. My thing is for people who so passionately feel sports are rigged (sorry, INFLUENCED) Why watch? And if your answer is “I still enjoy it”, then why bother complaining? Clearly you have accepted it and nothing you say will change it. So why let it upset you, if you know it is influenced going in?
  8. Are you arguing the NFL had fewer missed calls before the use of instant replay?
  9. The thread is literally titled "The NFL is Rigged" LMFAO but yes "only people like me" are focused on that. You are the one who responded to me first, not the other way around. My post was talking about the NFL not being rigged. You responded as if you didn't agree. So I'm gonna assume you also think the NFL is rigged. If you don't think it is rigged, then just say that and we can go on our way.
  10. The funniest thing about "sports is rigged" is that if you don't agree it is rigged, it is you who is made out to be the delusional one lol
  11. Yes, there are millions of people who watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. Literally all you have to do is google "who watches the Super Bowl for the commercials." And almost every site will quote you at minimum 25%. But again, keep insulting me if that makes you feel better. The true mark of a conspiracy believer.
  12. Lol please don't try and spin this as suggesting I am the one not living in reality/facts. You believe in a conspiracy theory, that is fine. Just please don't pretend like you are arguing something grounded in reality or dependent on facts. All I am saying it is impossible to argue against that. You think continually responding to me and saying more stuff is going to change that? Literally nothing you are saying can be supported by actual facts, and actual facts is what I deal with. Has it ever dawned on you that maybe referees make bad calls because humans make errors?
  13. I shouldn't be surprised that someone who believes in a conspiracy theory isn't actually interested in facts. I guess you know more than advertisers? Reputable sites typically say around 25-30% of viewers watch the Super Bowl with ads being the major reason why. Just because the commercials don't matter to you, doesn't mean they don't matter to a % that equates to millions of viewers. Commercials absolutely are important to the Super Bowl game or else advertisers wouldn't spend $5.5 million for a spot... but again, I am sure you know more than advertisers.
  14. And can anyone explain the point of this thread anyway? Like what did the Chiefs benefit from? The do-over 3rd down didn't result in anything. So that leaves the roughing the passer call. Is anyone here seriously arguing that wasn't roughing the passer?
  15. Once again, how can I argue against this? You are arguing something that doesn't require any kind of factual knowledge. You probably don't even know what would need to happen for Goodell to call down to the head referee and make that call, and you are assuming the head referee would comply would something that would get him sent to prison if it were exposed to have happened. So again, my point is proven. It is impossible to argue against someone who thinks the NFL is rigged. Because they will ALWAYS have something to point to. How can I argue against your conjecture that Goodell called the referee to change the result of a play?
  16. It is pointless arguing against someone who thinks the NFL is rigged and somehow hundreds of people (thousands of people if we're talking all of NFL history) that would have to be involved to make it happen are all compliant. Because how can you argue against them? Their argument literally isn't grounded in reality or dependent on facts. They can literally point to anything and say whatever, because again, reality and facts don't mean anything to them. Whereas a person arguing that the NFL isn't rigged is limited by reality and facts. It is an argument that you can't win.
  17. Don't be intentionally obtuse. You can't prove that the NFL is rigged.
  18. Ellis is right though. I think people need to take a step back and wait for moves to be made before getting upset over hypotheticals.
  19. Yes, I am the one living in la la land, not the one arguing something that they literally could not prove.
  20. Doesn't sound like you understand it, if you can't understand why the house usually wins. They make smart bets and set smart lines. But if you would rather believe a conspiracy, go ahead.
  21. What is confusing about that? The house is usually on the better team and the point spread is carefully chosen.
  22. Lol what? The better team gets the most bets put on them. Not rocket science.
