What? Harbaugh did not win 3 conference championships.
-
I get what you are saying, but I really hate when people call a late 2nd round pick "basically a 3rd". It literally makes no sense. Just call it a late 2nd round pick, because that is what it is. There are a set amount of picks in a round for a reason.

Nobody actually knows. Most are just throwing darts at a blank wall

It’ll be hilarious if Payton takes Denver to playoffs next season and then the narrative is “dumb Tepper taking a risk on a young coach instead of a proven winner”
-
I agree with you. The Panthers chose the better route.
-
I'm glad the Panthers didn't tank for Burrow. Would hate to be the Bengals right now.
-
They had the 30th offense in PPG in 2019 and 29th in 2020. He deserves some credit but he has studs all over the offense with Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Boyd, Mixon, Perine, Hurst. And it isn't like the offensive scheme they run is overly unique. Not to mention who knows how much influence Zac Taylor has. I'm not hating on him. Just explaining why he doesn't have as much interest as others

Bro, I thought Lance sucked as a prospect too. Has little to do with what he’s done in the NFL… although he has sucked so far too. I’m not saying I’m against bringing him in for a 3rd or 4th round pick and see what happens. But my expectations would be extremely low. His accuracy is dreadful.

Trey Lance is terrible.

Watching Jalen Hurts sort of hurts.....
Mage replied to YourLastThought's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is actually crazy how good Jalen Hurts has become. I always liked Hurts in college, especially because he handled the situation with Tua SO well. Nobody else handles that situation as good as he did. So I knew from that he was a phenomenal leader. But there is a reason he got sat for Tua in the first place. He's clearly got one hell of a work ethic because he's come a long way as a passer. -
Why? The Giants suck and the Eagles are way better.

5 days later. I want Mike Kafka still

Depends if we get a QB. We don’t have one.
-
What? They made the playoffs last year and were a win away from making it this year. What more can you expect from a team that is rebuilding post losing their franchise QB? I’d argue the Patriots have GREATLY out performed their talent level. Belichick the coach isn’t the problem, it is Belichick the GM (and the coaches he chooses to surround himself with) that is hurting them.

People seem to be sleeping on Mike Kafka as a candidate

The best coaches come from the best coaching trees and teams. What's the problem? Growl its time for you to board the Kafka train -

Best offensive teams of the last 3 years are the Bills and Chiefs Mike Kaftka learned under Reid (Chiefs) and Daboll (Bills) Get him in here. -
A defensive-minded coach who has never coached a top 10 defense in his entire career, who is already 53 years old, who has a 9-19 career record as a HC, who guided a team to a No. 1 Overall pick, is not a "safe hire". Unless by safe you mean it would safely secure our spot in the cellar of the NFC.

I'm sold ALL ABORD THE MIKE KAFTA TRAIN

"When will we know the new head coach?" - A three year study
Mage replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol I forgot how quick the Commanders were to hire Ron Rivera -
I don't want Dorsey, but that has less to do with any work that either coach did with Cam and more to do with the scheme differences. Shula ran a very archaic passing scheme. Relied too much on vertical routes and we often didn't give Cam many options underneath. On top of that, he didn't often have the guys who could consistently separate. Led to a low CMP%. Norv Turner wasn't great but his passing game was more modern and gave Newton more options to get the ball out fast.

Trading for Sean Payton vs Settling for Steve Wilks
Mage replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Man, this city deserves Wemby. As crazy as it sounds, he'd be an even bigger star than Cam Newton. Potential to be the greatest Charlotte pro player ever. Prayers that he can stay healthy at his size though. Knowing our luck though I bet we don't get him. -
Roman Harper thinks Sean Payton could be our next HC now
Mage replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Biggest + for Steichen is how flexible he is as a coordinator. Eagles offense transformed at the midway point last year to adjust for the fact their passing game wasn't looking so hot. Then they come into this season and just kill teams in all kinds of ways. Interested to see how they do in the postseason though. I could see their reliance on RPO hurting them but we'll see -
Graziano: Fangio leading DC Candidate in Carolina for Young HC
Mage replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
How about we wait before we complain about "what-ifs"? We have no inside knowledge about the situation and as of now we have not hired any coordinator. So lets wait and see what happens when we get a HC before automatically assuming Tepper is trying to force staff on a HC. -
Yeah, Saints have legitimately had terrible playoff luck. I think they absolutely beat Philly, although the Eagles were magical that postseason. Definitely should have beat the Rams They also lost in OT in 2019 to the Vikings after never getting a chance to touch the ball.

Also I didn't know this until I looked it up but apparently Marino and Jimmy HATED each other. And they were still able to have some success.
