How good is Brian Burns 2022 campaign?
Mr Mojo Risin replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Burns is not elite not sure what you people are watching on Sundays. He's capable of having a few good games a year but largely disappears through a good chunk of games. He's also a liability in the run game. How can you be considered elite at your position but are only good at part of your responsibility as a 4-3 DE? That makes no sense. Should have traded him. Handing him a monster deal is going to be a huge mistake -
Head coach forsure. Drafting a QB high does not guarantee he will be a franchise player. Imagine if we tanked on purpose and drafted someone like Zach Wilson with the 1st or 2nd pick. Even Trevor Lawerence looks suspect. He's having a better year than his rookie year but still doesn't quite look like a #1 pick could be better in the future though. Zach Wilson looks horrible though and It'd feel pretty bad if our top 3 pick at QB plays as bad as he has

That's a cherry picked stat. Cool but its meaningless. Burns has yet to take over a game like a true franchise player at the DE position. Solid player but I wouldn't call him a blue chip piece, he's capable of having good games but will go long stretches where he has absolutely no impact on the game we've literally witnessed it every year hes been in the league. Look at derrick brown for instance. Every game he makes his presence felt/known other than maybe the Bengals game. BTW Reggie White has the most sacks by a player through their first 4 seasons in the NFL at 70.

Take what back? The TD catch to force over time to give undeserving fans like you an opportunity to watch this team possibly win a game for 1st overall in the division? Nah I'm good -

Well, believe it there are more starting QBs playing in the NFL that were picked outside of the top 5 than there are QBs starting that were picked in the top 5 We have two top 5 picks on our very own team getting out played by a UDFA like come on use your brain it ain't that hard to see -

Who said signing JAG QBs was the way to go about fixing the QB situation? I sure as hell didn't -

Why else would they want to lose games on purpose to take a qb?...Because they "think" that's the only place there is to grab a "franchise" qb. Are franchise qbs good players or bad players? It's one of those things where if you use your brain you can easily assume why they want to tank and grab a qb early. It is because they believe picking a qb early he will automatically be a good player. Thinking Critically. Amazing life skill -

Just another reminder that using a top 3 pick on a QB does not guarantee he's going to be good. Zach Wilson is God Awful. Would suck if we "tanked" and got stuck with a QB like that. Interception machine -

Seeing you guys get this worked up and emotional over a 2-5 team that's in the midst of its 4th consecutive season with less than 6 wins is actually hilarious. I need to read game day threads more often -
Forgive me if this makes no sense but are you plaugelord?

On the TD to DJ it was great to see PJ hang in the pocket but make no mistake had Ickey given up after getting beat PJ would have gotten smashed. Ickey was able to recover and push his man passed the QB so he couldn't affect the throw or hit his QB
-
Was watching this video after the game yesterday and found myself watching #79 a lot. He's always looking to hit someone whether the play is to his side or the opposite. He gets beat a couple times on the pass rush but was able to recover nicely. He's going to be a special player for us.

This was the only reason I was okay with trading him for SOMETHING. Burns is a really good player but is he a GREAT player? I don't see it yet and we've had some great DEs play for this team. If we were really offered 2 1st round picks and we turned it down...idk I have a hard time believing that but if it is true then prepare for us to break the bank for a DE that's never had double digit sacks in a season. And while sacks isn't the end all be all for a DE it IS what they get judged on the most. Sacks and pressures.

6 weeks into the season at that lmao

Foreman/Hubbard combo ain't too damn bad.

One of the greatest games of this team's history. Both teams were like 8-1 or 9-3 or something like that heading to the playoffs and we just ran them over -
