What is the benefit to benching starters for the preseason?
Donald LaFell replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just hope the improvement feels stable and fun. I guess that will start with the coach. I feel like recovering from the Bryce trade will take a while. -
I’m not sure if Canales era will work out but the team looks a little more pumped/hype than last time which I like. Gut feeling feels like Evero could work out as a good HC somewhere else which will be so depressing.

that all-run 2 min drill was awesome, about as much suspense as a preseason game can have lol

I don’t quite follow? Are the bubble guys not getting any playing time?

It would have been more fun with him at QB than Clausen. I assume we would have won the same amount of games

Yeah @Mr. Scot should take this year off maybe lol

Panthers release a kicker, shore up offensive line
Donald LaFell replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can’t tell if this a genuine compliment or not. Aren’t kickers judged by how well they do on 50 and 55 plus? I feel like the drop off after top 5 or so guys is distinct. -
Everybody hates Bryce - TC August 11th
Donald LaFell replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Haha that makes total sense though. We had a great opportunity after the 2010 teardown but Hurney was absolutely drunk on that cap space. -
I think he was gone regardless so it basically just starts with passing up on the Burns trade. If you pass up on a trade that big it should mean he’s getting signed the same day. It’s Fitt’s mistake all the way. Getting anything at all speaks to Burns talent as a player and the GM. I’d call it a win. I also do feel like Tepper won’t find success unless by accident. Feels like he values the wrong things. I didn’t like Wilks as a long term coach but I think he would have been an amazing coach for rebuilding the team and getting back to an even footing.

I have zero hate for Bryce he’s just a kid. You can either cut it or you can’t. If the defense keeps looking good and developing players AND we let Evero walk I’m going to kick myself so hard I’ll do a front flip. Def on Tepper. -
I always appreciate his willingness to research coaching trees, i hope he gets better soon.

Tepper ranked dead last in owners (wow color me suprised)
Donald LaFell replied to Craig Cartner's topic in Carolina Panthers
Getting the Hornets brand back was a huge coup. I hope they can put it together especially while the Panthers stink so bad -

An NFL team doesn’t need to be a winner to go up in value. It can be a great anchor to start up a larger business in entertainment/data/gambling which I suspect might be Tepper’s overall goal. I look forever to the antebellum style cartoons of Tepper the carpet bagger when he moves the team. -
Ian Rapoport on Bryce: "Everyone had Bryce Young #1"

This would have been a great situation for Wilks honestly. Build a culture while we recoup. Keep expectations low. -
Julius Peppers' hallmark — quiet leadership
Donald LaFell replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah that was awk as hell. Glad Peppers got to see outside the Carolinas a bit. -
If anything he was prob a detriment to young guys at times. I doubt he’s ever really tried or synced up with WRs before. This could be the first time ever since he’s been retired. I think that Drew Carter trained with him but that’s all I remember. Could be wrong, haven’t been paying close attention these last few years hah.
