Moses vs Cyrus vs Bitonio

The only one I have a strong opinion on is Cyrus -- and it's not a positive one. This is an arthritic knee; do any of you have relatives with arthritis? Did it ever just magically go away or did it get worse with time? My guess is the latter. This knee is not going to get any healthier. He may get cleared for a season, but that's all the doctors can do. I just don't like how the future's looking from a medical standpoint.

We don't know that he has an arthritic knee.  There has never been an official report saying he did, only combine rumors that have not been corroborated.  Heck, he wasn't even called back to Indy for a combine medical re-check like any other player with a significant question about health.

Take Cyrus, we just need him to give us a good 5 years. That's 5 drafts where we'll get a chance to replace him before his knee collapse.

Desperation? Bad teams do this. Potential upgrades will be available in the 3rd. Still think the staff has more faith in Chandler than anyone in the draft. He resonds to coaching, is athletic and has the size for LT

Bitonio.  I like mean streaks and consistency.  He brings it and his versatility is a huge added plus.

Moses is really good but not really a mauler by any means but has got the build which is hard to ignore.  I'm just not buying him in the first over who else could be available.  A lot of people would have to be gone for me to say he's the most valuable addition we can get.

When it comes down to it, JB has the least amount of issues and most minimal curve.  I just think we want a tough sumbitch who can clear the path and most importantly protect Cam.  He brings all of the above.

After reading that report about Cyrus' knee, he seems to be fine and the OL I would choose (personally I want a WR in the first round but Cyrus would be my second choice).  It'll be three years since he's had the surgery come this fall, I think he's fully recovered.  I've never heard anyone complain about Thomas Davis having an arthritic knee.  And out of curiosity, what is not to like about Bitonio's size.  He's 6'4", 302 pounds and only 2 inches shorter and 12 pounds lighter than Moses.  He's the same size as Jordan Gross although he doesn't have the same skills I grant you that.  He can't do anything about his height but I'm sure he could gain 10 pounds.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
