17th!!! And he said he bases it heavily on QB and pass rushing!!!! What a joke! We could go 19-0 with Cam throwing for 50 tds, 5000 yards to no-name receivers and he and we still wouldn't get any respect! To get respect we'll have to have 11+ wins for 3 or 4 years straight and continue it. Damn.

last year he had the Panthers #24, writing: "For Carolina's offense to reach its mammoth, top-five potential, it will need Newton to cobble together a full season of outstanding performance. In 2011, his passing production tailed off in the second half after a blazing start. In 2012, Cam's first half was startlingly rough before a red-hot finish. This is Newton's third NFL season and time for him to develop into a consistent player."

    • IMO, I wouldn't consider either one of them a JAG, or Norwell or Mike Jack. I define a JAG as someone that can be easily replaced cheaply on day 3 of FA. A perfect example is Nick Scott. A deent enough back-up but not a starter. We let him test FA this offseason, no one made a good offer, we brought him back then drafted his replacement (I hope). Luvu, Shaq and Norwell were all starters that we let walk for financial reasons... And they all got picked up immediately by other teams. After they left us, they were missed. I fear that the same thing will happen next year with Jackson.
    • No he is not. On any other normal team he would be a backup if not off the team.
    • You could be right. I feel like if Bryce has a year basically the same as last year we're better off trading him because there are likely several teams that would be interested, despite what his naysayers on this forum will tell you. Not saying we'd get a 1st or 2nd rounder, but I feel confident some team would be willing to cough up a 3rd rounder for a former #1 overall QB that has shown at least some flashes.
