REPORT: Joel Bitonio will be the pick at 28

lol so a first round draft pick on a guard?

He's pretty much the exact same size as Gross.  Why does he have to play guard?  Because some random analysts said so?

IMO, Bitonio is a meaner version of Gross.  I think he would be a great pick.

Bitonio is basically a poor man's Zack Martin

Thing is, I don't know that he is all that poor.  He just played at a smaller school, so didn't have the same level of competition.  From what I've seen, I think he can be just as good as Martin...and I like Martin, think he can be pretty darn good.

Mayock said on his draft special he thinks Oakland will trade up for our pick and we'll take bitonio with their 2nd round pick. I like this much better.

What are we getting in return? Id would do it for an extra 2nd or 3rd. Nothing below a 3rd though.

In 2005 the Patriots drafted Logan Mankins with the 32nd pick. He was a 6'4", 310 lb and played his entire college career at tackle. They started him at guard his first season and he's played in all 130 games since he was drafted and has been to 5 or 6 pro bowls in his 9 year career.

What makes you think he won't play tackle? His measurable are almost identical to Gross'. He's a technician with a mean streak.

Maybe bc people that get paid to evaluate players see him being a guard....?

Mayock has him as a T, Mayock is very accurate when it comes to OL. If he comes to Carolina it'll be as a tackle. Look at his numbers compared to Gross and then tell me why he can't play T.

no one said he couldnt play T, only that they see him playing G at the next level. ie he would be a better fit at G than T

Most of everyone is also saying that Moses is light on his feet. Which he isn't, he's very sluggish laterally and struggles with speed/agility rushers.

So, watch a bit and make your own opinion instead of going off draft sites. There's a ton of misinformation on prospects, even at major sites.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
