Gettlemanto draft from MA via Skype

Recommended Posts

I thought this was interesting, DG will be at home to attend his son's graduation and will be taking care of the draft via Skype. Glad to see he's grounded in his family and that technology affords him such an opportunity.

People constantly harp on the fact that there is more to life than football. Gettleman is living that belief out.

The concern was so minute that coach Ron Rivera was able to joke about the Panthers' final four picks.

"If all 4 picks are defense, you know what happened," he quipped.

@RapSheet: Cool what #Panthers did for GM Dave Gettleman. Sent IT to Worcester, MA to set up a “draft room” in a hotel so he can see his son graduate

@RapSheet: The #Panthers replicated a mini draft board for Gettleman in his virtual draft room, allowing him to fulfill a promise to his son.

Somebody's comment on that article:

"Of course Gettleman taking time off during the most important time of the season. Gotta love absentee GM's, then they blame everybody else when things go wrong.Feel sorry for Cam Newton."

Another:

"gettleman gave up on the draft...real nice...panthers top 10 pick next year."

People are fuging retarded...

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
