just a heads up for people who don't know

Tre Boston once said "My number is 10 because it's like my last name Bos-ten"

Also just a heads up I'm a fan of this pick, the guy made plays for UNC. With a good pass rush, he will make plays in our secondary

We could have a great safety combo of him and Lester for the future

Instead of one word answers it would be nice if people said why they didn't like him.

I don't see S as a need, or anything that needs to be addressed. DeCoud is a potential long term answer, as is Lester. Godfrey and Harper offer short term resolution. This guy will only play on ST, meaning he's not really a contributor (Godfrey has the nickel for now).

Seems sort of average, at best, at UNC. Has some potential character issues. Not the biggest or fastest guy. It's just sort of... Meh.

STRENGTHS: Looks the part of an NFL safety with a chiseled physique and good overall athleticism. Highly physical defender who attacks the line of scrimmage in run support, demonstrating aggressive hands and impressive upper body strength to take on and shed blocks, as well as impressive closing speed and the willingness to throw his body into the pile. Fluid athlete who accelerates smoothly. Times his leaps well to highpoint 50-50 balls, showing strong hands to pluck and secure quickly. Former cornerback who could just be scratching the surface of his potential.

WEAKNESSES: Isn't the some of his parts due to the fact that he takes false steps. Doesn't trust what he sees and instead bounces back and forth indecisively, putting him in tough position to make plays on the ball. Comes in out of control in run support, at times, leaving cut-back lanes for savvy runners to exploit.

OVERVIEW

Played defensive back and running back as a Florida prep. Played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2010, making three starts at right cornerback and one at left corner, recording 32 tackles, four pass breakups and one interception with one tackle for loss and two forced fumbles. Missed three games with a sprained ankle. In 2011, started 11 of 13 games (four at LCB, four at nickel and three at free safety) and had 70 tackles, two pass breakups and three INTs with 1.5 tackles for loss and one forced fumble. Led the team in tackles in 2012, starting 12 games (nine at FS, three at SS) and totaling 86 tackles, six pass breakups and four INTs with one tackle for loss. Had a 36-yard interception return for a touchdown at Virginia. Made 13 starts at free safety in 2013, registering 94 tackles, eight pass breakups and five INTs with 4.5 tackles for loss. Led the team in tackles.

ANALYSIS STRENGTHS  Can secure tackles in the box when he has a clear path. Drops downhill quickly and can slip into short hole. Vocal leader of secondary. Three-year starter with experience at safety and corner. WEAKNESSES  Average instincts. Could stand to improve diagnostic ability and anticipation. Choppy pedal and stiff transition. Limited range -- does not explode off the hash or cover enough ground with the ball in the air. Takes some inaccurate angles and struggles to break down in space. Selective hitter and inconsistent tackler in general. Personality could clash with some people. DRAFT PROJECTION  Rounds 5-6 BOTTOM LINE  Converted cornerback and free/strong safety tweener whose statistical production might be his best resume builder. Uneven performer whose average athleticism, questionable physicality and immaturity will turn teams off. Will have to turn heads on special teams to have longevity as a backup.
