Well I guess Gman feels like the oline is fine.

He seems to have complete confidence in where it's at, save guard maybe. Maybe Bell and Chandler as our tackles?

Well... he's the paid man so, maybe he knows best. We'll see. I have a lot of doubts for sure about it all, but I'm willing to let the season play out some before making my mind up on the deal. It could work I suppose.

Still some more time to craft our roster AND Wharton COULD come back...

If he did that would help but a snapshot of right now where we stand is pretty comical compared to how the rest of the NFCS did in both FA/Draft.

On paper, our OTs are pure dog poo. Thankfully, games aren't played on paper. I hope some of these guys not named Bell are a lot better than we think or we plan on adding veteran stop gaps. My question is if those guys were better than Bell, then why was he playing? At the least you would've thought someone else would've been given a chance to slow down Mario Williams last year. He probably could've had a couple more sacks that day if he wasn't bent over laughing at Bell's efforts.

Wharton could come back, but he'd likely be the RG or a backup. Amini is the starter at LG, Kalil is the starter at center. Bell and Chandler will be the OT, with Williams having an outside shot at RT. Turner Is likely the RG, he he doesn't come along fast enough then Williams will get the nod.

Yea what can you say until it all plays out.......I agree it seems we have ignored our biggest need

Center and 4 guards

Yea I know we do not have the "game Plan" but on the surface it appears we are really lacking talent at OT.

I am really surprised at the way this draft played out as an outsider looking in.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
