Name me a play off the top of your head where Peyton Manning did something that wowed you and severely impacted the game.

Throwing seven touchdowns doesn't fall into that category because throwing touchdowns is their job.

You're trying to legitimize a good quarterback by impactful runs and passes. Manning only had the opportunity to have one game winning drive because he was so good.

Does that mean Newton was better than Manning last year since Cam had more game winning drives and impactful 'drive saving runs'? Or are we going to defer to statistics?

Yeah, but Manning doesn't have his running backs [rushing], and his defense scoring and deciding games for him on the regular.

That's the big difference.

I really want to understand this argument but I can't because our defense was just as good as Seattle's last year.

Oh and we had the same amount of defensive touchdowns last year and Seattle only out-rushed us by 208 yards (and yes, that is excluding QB rushing numbers).

Neither am I... new staff came in (it happens).

As for the post itself, Newton had a bigger impact and career wise he is the better player. However last year Wilson was better. Statistically he was better and won a Super Bowl.

Game manager = best QB season NA

I'd also like to point out that according to this ranking, Cam was a top five quarterback last year as I believe Wilson, Brees, Brady, and Manning are the only QB's a head of him.

Who are we to complain about top five?

 

Top 6.  They stated last week before Luck and Cam were ever revealed that there were 7 spots left.  Luck got the 7th spot, Cam the 6th, and I'm assuming Wilson is the 5th.

 

You forgot Rodgers, btw.  He missed a few games, but he was still just as good as ever.

 

 

 

At least we can all agree "fug you Matt Ryan, get the fug off our top 100 list".

Back to Cam vs boy wonder (Luck)-it annoys me when I read that Cam was "one and done", when common sense says the first round bye is a de-facto playoff win, but the boy wonder commits multiple boneheaded plays and gets the nod after the Jamal Charlesless Chiefs can't hold on in the wildcard round.

Agreed. Y'all correct me if i am wrong, but isnt "game-saving/winning drives" the statistic we hated when it came to Andrew Luck? We hated he got lifted up so high because "game-winning" drives were overated. Because it also includes the defense holding for you, who gets the ball last, and it also (as you pointed out) shows you HAD to pull it out late vs pulling away from the other team.
