I have a KIA bracelet from 2009 when my friend stepped on an IED in Marjeh. I haven't taken it off since. I honor my friend and colleague Sgt. Cesar B. Ruiz KIA Halloween, 2009.

I also honor my friend PFC Fernando Hannon who was KIA in 2004.

And all those brave men and women who are no longer with us.

I wanted to give a big thanks to all veterans on the huddle.

I don't know why, maybe because of my aging days, but tears swelled up in my eyes when I read this.

I was talking just yesterday with someone about things have changed since Vietnam.  It is so wonderful to see people appreciate what these young men and women face on a daily basis.  You don't know unless you've been there.  I was made to feel ashame for what I had volunteered to do.  I now have two Marine verterans, both combat veterans, and to see society accept them with open arms warms my heart about humanity.

WE are a great Nation.  We are not perfect but we are the GREATEST.  To all veterans know this;  I will stand arm in arm with you and fight to the bitter end so that all those that don't believe have the freedom to not believe.

Thanks, Jarhead.  That meant a lot to read this morning.

Memorial Day is for those who died in service, not Vets in general.

Thank you and RIP to those who paid the ultimate price.

You're very correct but a lot of people like to recognize the veterans because of their willingness to give their life.  Nothing should ever be taken from those that gave their life.  No higher sacrafice for freedom can be given.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
