Talking Punt Returners

Lol @ underrating Ginn on ST's. We've never had a field general on ST's like that, never. Just because he didnt crack off 8 TD's doesnt mean he wasnt good. He made so many saves I lost count. Not too mention he was ice cold fielding the ball and getting in position.

That is flat out got to be one of the most dangerous positions in sports. To play it with balls out is to say "I am a greater man than you". I felt like we had that with Ginn. 3mil. . just 3mil man, ridonkulous

Yeah, I'm sitting here wondering what some of them are talking about. Ginn didn't set the world on fire, but he was great at at least catching the mother fugers instead of letting them hit the ground, and he had nice returns when he had the opportunity.

Consistent. He was very consistent

As bad as our STs have been the past however long it was like HOF caliber last season.

I don't know maybe someone becomes available as teams make roster moves.

That actually happens a lot.

Teams tend to want return guys that can do more than one thing because it saves roster space. The ones who are known to be returners only often wind up being one or two year rentals.

Debating whether to sign some return specialist that got released seems almost like an annual ritual on this forum.

I posted in another thread that Ginn was actually middle of the pack on returns if you went by average.

As long as the person fielding punts can do so without muffing it completely, we should be ok.

that is a stat that is based on BOTH the whole kickoff unit AND the defensive unit. You cant pluck Ginn out of that and define him with it.

Sure, Ginn didn't do anything spectacular as a returner last season, but he was competent. He didn't do anything stupid or muff any that remember. I fear that we will now have to hold our collective breathes again on punt returns again as we did in the Captain/Armanti Edwards era.

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
