Madden Cover Finals: Cam Newton vs Richard Sherman

Mr. Scot

Cam said it would be a dream come true to be on the Madden cover.

Some of you can begin your lengthy apologies to him by voting for Cam to win the Madden cover.

Unless there's a different Madden Curse that I'm not aware of, the Madden Curse has never been about stats of a player but about the player donning the cover getting injured in the same year. And no, I'm not saying that I believe or believed in it, but there were players that got injured the year of their cover and it was simply dubbed "the Madden Curse".

People blamed the curse when Culpepper in 2002 or whenever threw 20+ INTs and fumbled like 15 times after being on the cover. There's a few examples where a guy stayed mostly healthy basically just sucked the next year. But obviously, decline in stats usually correlates with injury.

Those were obviously people that didn't know or just decided to tack it on. The Madden Curse was directly related to injuries of the player the same year he donned the cover...

Why are there so many idiots? Every post on Facebook or Twitter by the team or fans saying to vote for Cam is followed by dozens of "herp derp no don't teh Madden curse vote Sherman!"

I swear, if someone says that crap to me in person I'm gonna slap the dog piss out of them. It's the stupidest, most idiotic thing I've ever heard.

"We do not fear these myths and curses, and that is why we devote our time and energies to help our fellow man. That is why we build educational institutions and seek, by a slow and painful process, to teach man the true nature of the universe and a proper understanding of his place as a member in society. At the same time we try to fortify his mind with courage to withstand the rebuffs, the trials and tribulations of life." -Joseph Lewis

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
