A read on our captains for this coming year

I'm not sure Greg will be a captain.

You could say that if both Steve Smith, and Jordan Gross were still with the team. Not now though. Olsen is a pretty likely candidate. Greg is an important contributor to our team, a high character family man, and is also a good presence in the local community here.

Well, I think Cam, Kuechly, Davis and Kalil are locks.  As for the other two - IMO, it would come down to CJ, Olsen, Tolbert, and maybe Colin Jones if they add a ST guy.  Maybe Gano as a far left field choice, but can't see him over Olsen and Johnson.

Gotta have a special teams cap'n too...

We didn't last year.

Jordan Gross, Steve Smith, Thomas Davis, Ryan Kalil, Cam Newton, and Luke Kuechly. Some suspected Rivera changed it up in order to get Cam on. No way he was taking Gross' or Smith's spot.

Hmm I wonder if Hardy will ever step into CJ's role, I would imagine so.

If Hardy cleans up his image and is the DE that remains past '14, then yeah, I could see it.  Thing is... the C goes deeper than just talent - so if you're getting caught up in salary disputes and legal stuff off the field, no room to be the captain.

Yeah exactly, thats what I was thinking about. I could see him being a leader, he's similar to CJ in that respect and seems to have learned from him. He still may need a tad more control with his temper on the field. He constantly looks amped up to the limits to me. There's no dial down knob with him it seems.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
