Why is coach Fox so stubborn?

Why is coach still hesitant on letting Gamble go one on one with the other teams best WR?

You pay him like a shutdown Cb plus he wants too do it. He's begging to do it.

I would think that after the Arizona debacle he would jump at trying something new.

Can someone give me a reason why we would keep doing the same thing with our Cb's?

I would think Fox would probably counter w/ the 1st AZ game, NO, and some other examples where things weren't such a huge trainwreck. We don't play a LOT of man coverage anyway.

All I'm saying is you pay the man like a shutdown CB let him do it.

What are the benefits of keeping it the way it is?

Like in the Tampa Monday night game you could see Tampa kept putting

Antonio Bryant on Lucas side and torch him. I would like too see if gamble can shutdown a weapon for another team.

I would like to point out that john fox's recent comments about this at

http://www.heraldonline.com/247/story/1522243.html

This is basicaly typical Fox double speak, and I can understand why

he will not make any statements where he will confirm any changes.

Unfortunately we will not know if there will be any changes until the scrimage and the

first 2 preseason games.

The Panthers reportedly plan to isolate CB Chris Gamble on opposing No. 1 receivers this season.

Carolina may have learned its lesson after Larry Fitzgerald torched (mostly) Ken Lucas for 166 yards on eight grabs in last year's playoffs. Gamble is usually the club's left corner. He'll be bookended by Richard Marshall in 2009.

Can Gamble win the battle with a number one WR more often than not? I know it was a while back, but I keep thinking of the game in Cincinnati where we had them at a fourth and one, and they threw a bomb to Ocho Cinco in single coverage with Gamble, and we all probably remember what happened on that play. I'm sure there have been more good than bad, but that's the one I remember most.

    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
    • Definitely epic tv..... A man who wont cheat for a poke dont want one bad enough.
