Who you got for backup QB?

McCown or Moore? I've been reading it's a competition, but living on Cape Cod the only real Panthers news I get is from here or the Observer online. I'll be there for the preseason game against Pittsburgh though. But back to the question: who's your pick?

Washington gets a lot of stuff wrong, but they got their QB depth chart right, and I think we should follow that model:

1. Your clear starter: Jason Campbell (Delhomme)

2. Your veteran with ample starting experience: Todd Collins (McCown)

3. Your heir apparent [read as "fan favorite"]: Colt Brennan (Moore)

As much as people want the hot young QB to be the immediate backup, you fight the urge. You have as your backup a veteran, who may not be sexy, but who allows the least dropoff in performance from your starter. You keep your young studs on the bench to watch and learn, and maybe get a few snaps in.

I like Cantwell, if Jake goes down we are in big trouble. You can always pick-up the other two later anyway. It's not like teams are ready to pounce on either.

If Jake goes down, I expect to see McCown on the field. Personally, I have always liked McCown, and he would do fine in our system, where all the pressure isn't on him. McCown throws too many picks to be relied on to pass to win.
