NFL.com: Cam Newton primed to regress

He may have some valid points, but I don't think it's a crazy rebuttal in the least if one were to counter his argument by saying our WR's are absolutely better than we had last year, our interior O-line is better than last year, our RT is the same as last year, and if Nate Chandler can play to potential, our LT situation might not be nearly as bad as people are expecting. Stewart seems healthy for the first time in his NFL career, and Cam keeps getting better and better at his craft.

All in all, I think our offense can go from 28th to low 20's, which paired with the defense being better than last year, puts the Panthers right back in the playoffs.

I can't believe i'm even replying to this nonsense.

*sigh*

I can not wait for the Panthers to roll out, smack TB in the mouth, open the season 5-0 on the way to back-to-back division crowns, a number 1 seed in the NFC and a headsup match with Seattle for the NFC title in Charlotte.  Cam wins NFL MVP.  ESPN goes dark after Burman Hangs himself on air, and Tim TeEbow punches Skip Bayless in the mouth as retribution for saying he was a more accurate QB than Cam.

If only we had spent a first and third round pick on a weapon and lineman for Cam.

I know it's hilarious to me. First there is this unwritten assumption that our 1st round pick 6'5 240 lb wide receiver is instantly going to suck. When in realty we are one KB 800-1000 yard season away from all of this bullsh*t going away.

Then there's the unwritten assumption that LaFell and Ginn are better than Cotchery and Avant. Then there's the unwritten assumption that Trai Turner juts flat out doesn't exist and Byron Bell and Nate Chandler have no starting experience.

EDIT: Oh, and let's not forget that JOSH MCCOWN (who is a fantastic guy, by the way) is the new savior for Tampa Bay like all of those who came before him. Another unwritten assumption...how many seasons in a row now has Tampa been slated to be good. Media tends to forget that they haven't made the playoffs in 6 years, good for the 5th longest drought in the league.

Who in the hell was calling Travelle Wharton an effective starter for the Panthers at this time last year? Nobody because he wasn't a starter for us yet. He was sitting behind this years starter and was depth. I'm sick and god damned tired of the bullshit. Even more than for my selfish needs to see the Panthers win, I want them to win so they can stick a big boot up the ass of all the know-nothing blow hards.

That's the one the gets to me the most. Avant and Cotchery had reputations as sure handed vets, and now that they're here, they're bums. I wasn't as impressed with Ginn as everyone else around here was, but you would have thought we let Megatron go by the way people talk. Decent returner, though.

The experts didn't like it last season when their prediction of a poor to mediocre record didn't come true, so now they're making like it was a lucky fluke and claiming our WR corp and weak OL will take us back to where we belong. I welcome the opportunity the team has to make 'em look dumb again.
