who is the best team in the east?

How is Irving overrated? Facts please.

I believe if we can get Boozer we could be the top team in the East. If Vonleh or Zeller can put it up good numbers then we will be very good. MKG is going to improve and that will really help. I think right now the Bulls are the number one team as long as Rose is healthy. If Boozer signs with Miami then they could be a top team as well. I think Indiana could be a top team if they trade for Lance's replacement.

If Anthony Bennett can play as well as he has in the summer league then I see Cleveland being a top 3 team in the east.

Right now I'm trying not to be a homer but I really think the Hornets are going to be great.

His numbers thru 3 seasons are nearly identical to Kemba, plus he's injury prone. He's overrated.

I agree it's Chicago on paper but so much for them hinges on Rose.

It's super close though...I think we could gun all the way for the 3 seed.

Tier 1: Chicago, Cleveland

Tier 2: Charlotte, DC, Indiana, Miami

Tier 3: Atlanta, Toronto, Brooklyn, Knicks

****Also, we're positioned perfectly to rebuild/or make splashes when the FA explodes in 2 years.

Miami is still going to be pretty good. They're still ahead of Atlanta and Brooklyn in my opinion.

Edit: and still way better than the Knicks as well.

Oh sh*t forgot the Heat haha

I'd put them on the 2nd tier

1. Chicago (division winner)

2. Cleveland

3. Washington (division winner)

4. Toronto (division winner)

5. Charlotte (with Boozer, two seed)

6. Miami

7. Indiana

8. Atlanta

9. Brooklyn

10. Detroit

11. New York

12. Orlando

13. Boston

14. Milwaukee

15. Philadelphia

I think that Indiana team is going to struggle. Hibbert was exposed last year, so I think that George and West are going to have to carry that team and it's going to be tough in a division with Chicago and Cleveland.

If al started the season healthy last year I think we finished fifth last year. This is a better team.

I really think the hornets have to be considered for that spot.

I think we've past brooklyn, Washington, Toronto, indy and Miami.

I'd definitely say we are top three with Chicago and Cleveland.

Thoughts?

The Bulls can be the best team in the east if everyone stays healthy, but are a top four seed even without Rose.

The Cavs have a ton of potential if everything clicks. The line up of Kyrie / Wiggins / LeBron / Thompson / Varejo (?) could be quite exciting for their fans.

I still fancy Indy and Miami to be thereabouts as a top four team. I wouldn't rule out Washington or Toronto as a top four team, both are young and talented. That said, I think grabbing a top four seed has got easier next season. I'm not saying we are the third best team in the east, but we should be aiming for a top four seed.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
