Now it's 2-4 weeks with Stewart

I just saw his interview, and while I'm frustrated with the whole thing, he did at least seem to be a little bummed out about the situation and still kept mentioning regardless of the hamstring injury (which he stated he's never had one before) he's still feels the best in a long time now that his ankles are finally fixed.

I wouldn't take the 2-4 weeks thing to heart.  He said in the same sentence he doesn't even know how long a the recovery on a hamstring injury is since he's never had one, he was just guessing and throwing numbers out there when asked.  He sounded confident that he's going to be ready by week 1.  It could all be BS, but just gonna try to keep an optimistic outlook about it.

The contract sucks, just hope for the best.  If he's really 100% this season, which he hasn't been in a long ass time, along with our beefed up interior o-line the run game could see a bit of a resurgence this year.

side note: apparently Mike Tolbert has lost like 15 lbs this offseason.  Not sure how I feel about that.  Says he can "run for days" now though.

I feel the weight lost might be a good thing for him, he still has the power & mass but will be able to hit gaps faster. IMO Tolbert usage will be a lot more this year in goal line and short yardage while Cam still recovers in the 1st quarter of the season. While Stewart will able to handle the 1-3 downs for us. This years run game is going to take a major leap and push us to the top.

:rr:

Ive said it before, and I will say it again, Jstew is a waste of a roster spot and not trying to trade this guy was a mistake.

Jesus Christ how many times do we have to have this discussion?

The way his contract is structured makes it IMPOSSIBLE to trade or cut him without incurring massive dead money charges on the cap this year, charges we CANNOT afford.

    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
    • He had the award until like the last 8 games. He sucked ass and flagg had 3 40 point games
