Camp Photos and Observations - Day 2

Greg Olson is also having a great camp so far this year. He has made some acrobatic one handed grabs. Greg isn't the most talkative guy on the practice field, instead he lets his play do the talking. However, I have seen him really help out the younger tight ends on their route running. Greg fits the wise veteran mold well.

Who is Olson?

Nice pic of delo and keek and nice catch of the bump Alverez !  Maybe all the talk of the players not liking g man is bs.

It is BS or rather should be that way.  The only player that said anything that could be considered derogatory towards GMan is S. Smith.  Gettleman loves football and is building a brand here that the fans can be excited over.  He has handled the contracts well, while keeping guys on board and hungry(i.e. Godfrey).  12-4 with the cap restrictions the year before, I am looking forward to what he can do in the future.  Players that don't want to be a part of a winning culture like that need to be shown the door.  We have seen what a bunch of ear to ear grinning players with fat contracts and no competition gets us.

Thanks from across the nation Zod. Err... Jeremy. It really is awesome for us out of staters. Feels like I'm right there (only not sweating it out and clogging my intestines and arteries with the legendary Beacon food)!

Today is the first practice in pads. I will be there covering the action. Follow @CarolinaHuddle for updates on twitter.

Could you perhaps give us an overview of Kony Ealy? From what I have been hearing, it hasn't been good.

    • Another source: NFL Rumors: Hakeem Butler to Visit Panthers After UFL Success, Wade Phillips' Praise ZACH BACHAR JUNE 10, 2024 The Carolina Panthers are expected to conduct a workout with UFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Butler recorded a league-leading 652 receiving yards as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. He was previously a fourth-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. After the Battlehawks were defeated by the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL Conference title game, Brahmas head coach and longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips told the receiver that "I'm going to tell everybody in the NFL that I talk to that you need to be playing," via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. Despite the loss by St. Louis, Butler still hauled in six receptions for a team-high 59 receiving yards. The 28-year-old was named the 2024 UFL Offensive Player of the Year, as he was one of only two wideouts to have multiple games with at least 100 receiving yards. While the Panthers added Diontae Johnson and first-round rookie Xavier Legette to their wide receiver room in the offseason, they could still use some depth in the form of Butler. Carolina isn't opposed to picking up former UFL players, as Rapoport revealed on Thursday that the team is also "expected" to sign All-UFL receiver Daewood Davis. Although Butler was selected by the Cardinals in the 2019 draft, he did not play as a rookie due to a hand injury and only appeared in two regular-season games as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. He did not record a catch. Butler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2023 offseason, although he ultimately didn't make the team's regular-season roster. At 6'5", he has the frame to potentially make an impact in training camp and earn a shot at making Carolina's 53-man roster. If his workout goes well with the Panthers, Butler could give himself another chance to possibly return to the NFL.
    • They have all the rookies. The DC game has Ron though. With the new QB. It is weird.  pantherclaw, Bryce sort of is what he is, and in Madden he makes throws the real Bryce can’t make. Here and there. He ain’t ain’t a top QB in Madden though, lots of picks. aone of them lol was the throw that scares the hell out of me when he throws it, out to the boundary... quack quack.
