Peter King is on Mac Attack right now.

He stumbled when he was asked about giving Cam a backhanded compliment and the piece being about himself and not Cam. Asshat.

He's been stuttering with every answer. He should stick to writing. Or not...

Guys who have won Super Bowls can club baby seals without criticism.

Jim Harbaugh and Greg Schiano are essentially the same person, but Harbaugh gets glory and endorsements while Schiano got his walking papers.

People can be extremely forgiving when you win games. That's just how it is.

Hmmmh

Cause Steve Smith Pouted and went into a corner sulking on the field later that year, and nary a reporter saw the duplicity in his actions vs his outspoken criticism to a reporter (Brett Jensen) the week before.

Plus, Thomas Davis cried on the field after a loss that same year, and nary a reporter talked about that either.

SMH (I know, QB's). Lol

Honestly, I don't regard Peter King highly enough to hold a grudge against him.

He was wrong.  He's an ass.  Big deal.  There's a million other guys I could say those two things about.

I don't consider him a 'special ass'.

I was joking, but I think you give the media credibility when you do what Cam did.  I had been saying until year 3 that Cam needed to mature.  I got blasted by some people on here.  The differences are subtle, but I think Cam has grown into an effective leader.  Yes, King is a goober, but Cam describes the transformation well when he says that others told him to blow King off (he was listening to other, or following) but he decided to clear the air on his own, as a man (leader).  I am going to be interested to see Cam's demeaner on the sideline. It also shows that his skin is thicker now, which is a sign of confidence and experience.

I wonder how much different he is going to be with Smitty gone?  I think the impact will be positive.

But I dont look at it as holding a grudge. Cam dont have to say anything to anybody if he dont want to, especially to him of all people. It doesnt make him look better or worse to talk to him, and honestly I doubt it even changes king opinion of him. Let something happened tonight, he'll be throwing shots tomorrow

Actually the article he wrote states otherwise. The article as a whole praises Cam for his growth into a great leader/QB and talking about his personal encounter with Cam is just a great example of saying wow this guy has really matured and his future looks bright.

I agree with the other poster.

Yes, we hope that King will now like Cam, report him fairly. Who knows?

However, this whole "Cam is maturing" angle, every time he kisses a reporters ass is becoming old.

Cam's been mature, especially dealing with media who treated him poorly--in a professional manner, since he got to Carolina. This is nothing new. Pete Prisco had similar, with even more openly effusive praise/comments of Cam, shocked at Newton's graciousness after Priscoe's ProBowl hatchet job article.

Cam's been with ESPN, NFL Network reporters after they've dogged him, etc, as well.

King's not telling us anything new; thus this can all be seen as a backhanded compliment.

King's article would me more in line with what you're saying, if he would have stated "I WAS WRONG ABOUT CAM NEWTON". Instead, he said Cam matured, placing the onus on Cam, and not on his initial shabby, petulant reporting/tweeting.

Again apples and oranges.

My point was that Tom Brady or guys like Bellicheck never grew out of how bitchy they act when they lose. Maybe the media will be a lot more lenient to Cam once he starts winning championships but for some reason I doubt it.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
