That's your problem. A true fan of hip hop listens to everything old and new. Kids today think only someone like Tyler the Creator is the best around. I'm like ... just give up on life.

I'm white and I can name a handful of white rappers better than Eminem. And as for race ... underground hip hop is all about harmony. Everyone is a part of it and that's what makes it beautiful.

I mean, you seem pretty knowledgeable about hip-hop. I'm talking about those who have never really listened to hip-hop outside of what's played on the radio and somehow deem Eminem the greatest ever. I definitely believe Eminem is top ten though.

I used to say he was overrated but he's Top 5 - dead or alive.

 

Tupac, Biggie, Jay, Em, Nas, Reggie, Scarface, Common, KRS, Rakim, Gza, Mos Def, Trech

 

If you pick 5 out of there, Em is one of them. Feelings get hurt, but it's only fair.

I do think Eminem posses a certain "appeal" to the middle class of America because he looks more like them than your average rapper.

 

Same thing happened with Macklemore (even though lyrically Eminem and Macklemore aren't on the same planet)

I think he's awesome but he's sort of declined in my opinion. He seems to have stuck in the same style in a lot of songs. At least by his radio stuff anyway.

 

When he guest raps in songs I was hear in my head, "Banana Fanna Fo Fanna".
