Not to beat a dead horse, but preseason really needs to be 3 of these 'games' max. 

 

Agreed.

 

I know the commish wants it to be two and the NFLPA wants to keep it at four, but why not just compromise and say three?

Yep, gameplan for the first two and treat the third one like they do the last one now, a last ditch chance for players bound to be cut to show something on film.

Honestly I've gotten so tired of repeating myself to overreaction threads I honestly steer clear of them, when people overreact and flip out trying to give them a voice of reason isnt exactly what they want to hear.

 

but

 

as far as preseason games go, the only thing you can take away is trends, any trends you see, consistent issues, and strengths will be throughout the season, bet even with that said, I have seen panthers pre-seasons where the first string offense didnt score a single TD for all 4 games and we turn around and light it up in our opener, so yeah it's preseason, you really should just be praying that we make it out healthy. the only thing that actually matters in the preseason.

The ONLY thing that concerned me tonight was the fact that NE only sent 3, and sometimes 4 receivers out in patterns. And we still couldn't cover them. They max protected all night, which is why our pass rush couldn't get there.

Cam had a decent game, but the running game once again was sad. But with the right side of our line out, I ain't gonna complain.

Reading the game day thread was...funny. Folks guaranteeing a losing season. Cutting players. Firing coaches. And just acting like entitled little kids. Too funny.

14. That Tom Brady guy might actually be pretty good, and we barely squeaked past this team last year when it mattered. We played a good team half-assedly in a meaningless game and the scoreboard reflected that. It hurts the pride but it's irrelevant beyond that.

 

 

This is such a good point.  We could barely stop Brady at home last season during the regular season.  We had to outscore them and then stop Brady on the last play of the game to win that one last year.

 

I remember reading that Rivera said that last week would be the dress rehearsal and despite how long the starters played tonight it definitely looked like it.  Seemed like the Panthers were trying to get Cam and the receivers on the same page while the Pats were bringing heat and attacking the short passing game.

 

I'm ok with, I don't think the Pats did anything dirty like picking up an injured player or anything.  I just think that we came off a short week in preseason and came out extremely flat.  When you do that against good teams on the road you get blown out.  Look at Seattle and Chicago right now.

I agree 100%. Cam looked sharp passing. Off topic but where in the actual fug is Marvin Mcnutt? The dude litterally has vanished, I havent seen his name on here in what seems like ages, I never saw him once on the sideline or anything. Marvin Mcnutt does exist doesnt he,? just making sure hes not a figment of my imagination or anything

      lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

      Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
