This offense will miss Steve Smith

You're in denial Mr. Igo. You can't honestly say this offense isn't better with Steve Smith Sr, on our roster.

I can honestly say I wish we still had Steve Smith.

But I cannot honestly say our offense is worse this year then last. I love Smitty to death and am still mad at Gman for cutting him when he only planned on staying one more season, however he was declining fast and was part of a WR core that was slightly below average at best.

We all had emotional attachments to Smith as he was arguably the Panthers first superstar, and all of us regardless what age witnessed him grow and become one of the NFL best receivers in the past decade. And this has caused us to get the idea he was still that superstar who was a legit number 1 when in reality he wasn't. Not anymore.

Our Wrs sucked last year and honestly there's not much room for decline which is why I believe so many people Nationally are overreacting. At least that's my opinion.

Dude, we are gonna miss Muhsin Muhammad this season. I mean, I can't believe we let him retire. Imagine trying to cover Moose and KB. Their height and hands would be impossible to for defenses to cover. I know the guy was getting up there, but he was a great leader and so sure handed. Muhammad would have been so much better than Cotchery or Avant. Hell, I can't believe we let Keyshawn Johnson go!

... You see how stupid this sounds? Smitty is gone, he isn't coming back so these threads matter less than points on Whose Line. Drop it and stop it.

That's like going to have a beer with the guy who's fuging your hot ex, I'll pass

Yeah except you still see your ex as the hot chick when you started dating her. Now she has gained 20 pounds and lost her front tooth, but you are still convinced she is hot.

She is no longer hot, just mildly fuggable

We are going to miss Steve Smith this year, he brought toughness to our offense that we don't have right now. Nobody on our offense is a get in your face type of guy. Say what you want about the guy but he brought fire to this team. He would easily be the #2 WR if he was still here and it ain't even close.

Tiquan Underwood might not make the team, Cotchery has been a no show, and Avant is well Avant. Letting go of Steve will haunt Dave for years to come. We still need him. fug the flack I'm going to get for this and no I'm not letting poo go. It pains me to see how much talent he has left and the fact that we're paying him to wear purple and black. End rant.

Somebody tell Aceboogie this horse is DEAD!!!

Steve has more left in him than that

    • Like your sense of humor.  The answers we seek often lies in the question we ask.
    • This is going to be one of the more competitive camps we've had at WR in awhile... The only locks are XL, TMac, and AT. Coker and Horn Jr both have strong chances at making it. I can see David Moore being WR6. Renfrow might be the WR7 if they decide to carry that many, or he could join Dan Chisena on the PS (who gets stashed to help on ST more than at WR).
    • Sure, but I have long acknowledged he got better.  He went from horrific to mid-lower end starter.  But now you can’t say that…..you got people wanting to spin top 10 play if you look at it this way, great deep ball passer if you only acknowledge x.   I mean the headline in that article is nice for fans to run with.   But in reality Bryce Young was not the best deep passer in week 12.  Far from it.  He went 2 of 7 with no TDs deep.  The week was full of guy who went something along the lines of 3 of 4 with a bomb TD.   So Bryce then gets appointed best deep passer for say….plays like a 50/50 jump ball while trailing late to a fully covered AT that goes incomplete but could have been something given how the defender played it….not an actual good play.  But that could have been a good play.  I mean, same play could have been a pick if everything else was the same and the defender who had AT blanketed played the ball better (nothing changes for Bryce in terms of what he did.  It’s just a 50/50ish ball to someone covered)….and his entire best deep passer week 12 is built off plays that never happened over guys that actually got it done.   we should be happy Bryce with from shouldn’t of been drafted play to serviceable starter last year.  But all this spin that he is somehow actually sneaky great just ain’t something I’m doing yet
