The Superman Survives

They are going too far with this. Football is an emotional sport. I'll bet the vast majority of fans like the ball spinning (when not directed at an opposing player) and pointing after a first down (not Cam's necessarily, just in general).

The owners are pretty much all really old guys and the commissioner isn't exactly a bag of laughs either. The league needs some new blood.

"Standing over opponent"

From now on all players will be required to bear crawl no less than 4 yards away from whomever they just tackled before being allowed to stand to their feet. They must be facing away from the tackled player when they stand, or a 15 yard penalty will be incurred. Additionally they must also apologize for hindering the offense's ability to score touchdowns and theoretically keeping dollars out of roger's pocket. Another tackle by the same player on the ensuing play will incur a "point defending" infraction, and the offense will be allowed a "free pass"," in which all 11 of the defenders will have to leave the field for one play at minimum while the offense is free to perform a Hail Mary pass. Players who show displeasure with the rule will be fined for 12 games and forced to take a "future of the game" sympathy class.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
