Cam's Contract Projection by Spotrac

Gucci Mane

Speculating that he would hold out. That is baseless as there has not been one signal that would indicate a holdout.

Sorry to be confusing.

When i say a guy holds out for $25 million, I am saying that against  the backdrop of the article saying $25 million and everyone here saying, "oh, but not our QB, he will be nice, because we are nice".

All I am saying is that agents don't play nice and we can hold our breath for waiting on market value discounts.

We think he will come in at $18-$20, but I think his agent will want more if he thinks he can get it.

Don't ask me, I don't think any of them, including the big money JJ Watt just got is well spent.

As mentioned here, I would rather hold our D together and get some O Lineman.  Same thing when we are talking Keek next season.  If we can't keep the big guys in front of him, his tenacity can only take him so far.

I would be surprised if he doesn't get close to what Kaepernick got.

He has said he wants a deal nothing like the one Kap got. Not surprised.

I like the Kap deal where they can make a ton if they produce a ton.

Same with Keek coming up.  Produce like a boss, get paid like one

He doesn't want an incentive-based deal. it's been reported in multiple places.

Cam wants to win over anything else. In his under armour series he said the only thing missing right now is a Lombardi. He has no desire to be the highest paid anything, he just wants to win. Him and Jordan are friends, I'm sure they've had discussions on how Cam can build his brand. It's all about winning.

200 mill @ 10 yrs.........not that bad.... or add another yr. The cap keeps going up and QBs are the main benefit form it. Cams only 25, QBs can play til late 30s and still put up solid numbers. I believe his agent(like most) wants a 3-5 year deal, then cash in again at 29 years old. Do it again and cash in at 33.......

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think Cam will work out a team friendly deal. I'm convinced he wants to win a Super Bowl more than signing a ludicrous contract.

Cam isn't working out anything. His agent is, lol. Cam will eventually make the final decision, but it's going to be agent-friendly, first, lol.

    • Also, just for clarity, is this thread meant for general discussion of Bryce Young, or discussion of General Bryce Young?
    • The word I feel most comfortable using as a descriptor is "inconsistent". Haven't really seen anyone disagree with that. Consistency being one of the things I value most in a player, that makes me lean toward moving on. But he does still have both time and opportunity to prove otherwise. Mind you, having a streaky quarterback isn't exactly a new thing in Charlotte (you could argue it's been the norm). Delhomme was notorious for starting slow but finishing strong. He could sadly also find hos way into ruts that were difficult to crawl out of. Newton, on the other hand, was often known to start hot but fade late (the vast majority of the 2015 season followed that pattern) though it could be argued that was a team pattern as much as it was Cam's.  There are definitely some fans for whom this is always going to be a bridge too far. (or too short) Realistically, it's not impossible that he could still have a good career even with those issues. It's a damn sight more difficult, though. And arguably, less likely.
    • Oh, I did, and they weren't based in emotions either. Granted, characterizing them that way gives you an easy out to avoid responding to them. Similar tactic to dismissing the other guy's points with "nah, you didn't really watch the games" which saves you having to debate what he said. Strikes me as a kinda lazy way to go, but hey both elements are still back there if you feel up to trying later.
