Dave Gettleman?

Gettleman himself said it was a risk putting bandaids on certain spots. last year it worked at this year not so much.

There's certain positions where it can work and some where they can't.  LT and RT should not be bandaids unless it's an old vet.  The whole Bell/Chandler blind faith was bad given our biggest asset is our franchise QB.  DG should've been smarter than that.

Blame Hardy...

Or you could blame this shitballed OL.

Or maybe the patchwork secondary?

Or maybe the "revamped" WR corps full of guys who couldn't beat a sloth in a race walking?

Or maybe the overall turnover from last season and how we allowed so many key players to walk?

Oh thats right, we're cap strapped... so much so that we unnecessarily released Smitty and took a cap hit because he is old and sucks.

i was just saying that there are two LTs that were taken in the 7th round that are already starting and playing well for their teams. DG could've waited until as late as the 6th round and had either one of them. but the DG supporters loved to claim that there weren't any quality OTs outside of the 1st round in the previous draft.

I didn't say that, and never would say something that stupid. I wanted an LT early.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
