We're not getting pressure on the QB, and I don't think McD wants to blitz that much with our secondary the way it is.  He's kind of stuck with what Gettleman gave him.

What exactly is poor about McDermott as a defensive coordinator?  This is not a case of our scheme failing us.  Our players are simply not executing the gameplan.  Every single time we blitzed today, there was a receiver open downfield because we don't have the talent in our secondary to man up on guys.  When you can't get a pass rush with your front four and lack DBs who can play man coverage, that cripples you on defense and limits what a DC can call.  How anyone can place blame on McDermott is, in my opinion, just ridiculous.

And this is what pisses me off most about that situation.  If we are *told* by the league we can't play him (exemption list), why the fug do we have to pay him and have his cap count against us???

Regarding McDermott though, he needs to do better.  He has been fine up until Pittsburgh, but if if rushing 4 doesn't get the pressure you used to have, then rush 5.  Or rush 6.  Just get the pressure.

That's pretty much the difference between last year and the last two games... If our front four doesn't get pressure the corners get exposed.
