Charles Johnson hurt

Panthers LE Charles Johnson is dealing with a hip-flexor injury.

It's pretty much the exact last news the Panthers' embattled defense needed. It's unclear what Johnson's status is for Week 5. Already dramatically worse than 2013 in the absence of Greg Hardy, the Panthers' defense would be in danger of becoming an all-out doormat were Johnson to miss an extended amount of time.

per rotoworld

So far this season, Charles Johnson is averaging 0.75 tackles per game.  That's his only statistic...  Dude is making around $1 million per tackle.

He's been hurt all year.

Our defense is gonna suck all year. The sad part is, we're a LT & competent OC away from having a very good offense. Trade for a LT & find a competent play caller & open up the playbook. Cam could carry the team.

Too bad Rivera & DG are conservative & scared to score points.

going by carolinas record alone, carolina is currently ranked #14, there are 10 teams with 1 or less wins this season.  I'm pretty sure those teams feel differently about where carolina is at as a team.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
