Kelvin Benjamin through 1/4 of the Season

No surprise here, he is leading the pack for the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

1. Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina Panthers- Benjamin was one of the lone bright spots in the Panthers blowout loss to the Ravens as he caught five more passes for 76 yards and another touchdown. If you were allowed to re-draft, Benjamin would be the first receiver taken and a Top 10 pick.

1. Kelvin Benjamin: His 329 receiving yards and three TDs pace all rookies. Such output is even more impressive considering he stepped right into the No. 1 role vacated by Smith in Carolina despite pre-draft concerns about his polish and NFL readiness.

Is Benjamin the lone bright star for this team in midst of this 2 week hiccup? I would say Olsen is playing well but aside from that, Benjamin is standing out as an individual player.

He is currently 9th in total yards among all WR's while Evans, Cooks and Watkins are 44th, 45th and 48th. The three other WR's avg. 10.7 YPC while Benji is at 15.7. The 4 combined TD's of the three WR's are only 1 more than Benjamin alone.

I would add Cam as a bright spot, cause he has shown he doesn't need his legs to make plays and he is more than capable of being a pocket passer and maybe even one of the best some day....

But KB is definitely the main bright spot just because it is his rookie season and he has adapted well to his new diet that includes DBs for breakfast, lunch and dessert. :P

I would agree with this.  Even though he's playing banged up, Cam is throwing the ball from the pocket better than ever.

    • I don’t go back and look at the espn but there live it definitely said 1 shot 1 goal when it happened. I guess they had not added them yet. Still allowing goals that early is rough. Blue line is a total disaster still. Even with Slavin back. Miller and Nikishin keep making mistakes after mistakes.
    • I generally disagree with the concept of picking a position because of value early in the draft. For instance, if there's a really good safety, RB or ILB at pick 10, I'm choosing him over a project WR or DE. Better players make the team better. A bunch of ok players will give you an ok team. The number 1 goal of the draft should be to improve the overall talent on the team. Not to fill positions of need.  Deciding beforehand that you're picking a LT in the first or second round because Ickey went down is not the way to improve the team. Now if Dan has similar grades on 2 or 3 players and one happens to be a LT, then yeah go for it. But don't pass on your guy at ILB because you have a gap at LT or need to improve the pass rush with a DE. When those guys don't pan out then you haven't improved your team. But that LB could have been a franchise cornerstone for years to come. See Luke Kuechly and Christian McCaffrey.
